It is a format compatibility issue if files are greyed out when playing from the My Computer node: http://www.mediamonkey.com/support/inde ... greyed-out

Hi I've started having problems with my portable mediamonkey.

I use it amongst (native virtual) builds of windows 7 ultimate x64.

My friend shared the new Modest Mouse album, I've downloaded a copy, it's currently in the downloads folder of the user. This is mounted as a volume, currently with f:

I'm usually just navigating the my computer tree, which is why i don't understand why files that are visible are greyed out when playing.

Is there a log somewhere?

Is this a drive letter thing?

I copied the folder to my desktop, and can access the same media located in a desktop folder.

Thanks, that worked awesome.

Next time I'll use search I guess, but I did look in the knowledgebase and couldn't have found it under something about modems. Also might be worth putting in the readme.txt

Anyway [SOLVED] :D

MediaMonkey wont play songs from A:\ or B:\ drive locations. All songs are greyed out and wont play. Filepaths start with the drives name instead of letter in MediaMonkey, e.g. [Archive]\Media\Music\song.mp3 while tracks that work show C:\User\Music\song.mp3

I know I can change the drive letters and probably will, but this an annoying introduction to MediaMonkey coming from other players not having this problem.

Any ideas for workarounds or fixes so I don't have to change drive letters?
