MMW needs to be closed before you edit INI outside MM.

i set: "use tags then inferred properties" now album artist is read again. So this solved the problem
i tried changingthe ini so inferred properties would be read from path instead of filename
i left as is : " UsePathToGuessMetadata=1"
and changed : "UseFileToGuessMetadata=0" into: "UseFileToGuessMetadata=1"
but after a restart the 1 was back to 0
But the tags should normally have the right info so i should be good.

"Sizzly"]I've found the auto population of the album artist tag to be a bit... unreliable on import if you don't import it using the structure of /<album>/<artist> - <title> or a similar variant. If MM can't determine the album through the metadata or interpolation it will leave that field blank. The good news is that once a track is in MM it does a brilliant job (except on compilations) of auto populating that field when you make edits to the properties of the track.
Funny thing is , my directory structure hasn't changed, so i wondered why album artist isn't parsed anymore.
I don't think i need album artist so i guess i let it slide.
I usually just use autotag from web so I can get the album art and that seems to address the issue.
i use MM for audiobooks, alas, no autotag from web for books.....

I believe MM gets album artist from album +artist tag, these tags are correct but album artist field is empty after adding the files.
