Seems to me you can do one of two things; you can treat the 17 CDs as a box set, separate the discs by disc number, call the whole set Nilsson box set or whatever and either use one cover art for all or as you rip each one treat it as a separate album and go get the art for that album.

If it was me, I'd treat each CD as it's own entity and go from there. Whenever I get CDs with bonus tracks, I label an album as such and put them on there so the original album stays the way it should ie the album Shades of Deep Purple. I have one album called Shades of Deep Purple and the bonus tracks are on Shades of Deep Purple bonus.

Hope you figure it out to your liking.

Yeah, I understand, Lowlander. Just wish this basically Japanese box set, had the nice covers, or access to it.
The sleeves have all the original information. Just almost impossible to read it without a magnifying lens.

Most will use the same Album name for all CD's in the boxset and use Disc# to indicate the individual discs. There is no way to tag a specific disc name in MediaMonkey (you could use a custom field).

Tagging and filing box set

I just bought the Nilsson Box Set, and was trying to put it into my Media Monkey. Problems. Even though each of the 17 CD's has a faux CD sleeve, it doesn't "work" that way.
Example. Nilsson's first album, 'Aerial Pandemonium Ballet' has a ton of extra cuts and outtakes. I wouldn't mind if I could separate it from the other 16 cd's. But the free database? has not worked. All the music in all the cd's get combined into a huge unmanageable mess. It just comes up at RCA's Nilsson Box Set, and there is no rhyme or reason to it. Should I just give it up and try to tag every cd on my own, and tie in my own cd image cover? Or should I try to just stipulate CD-1, CD-2, etc. This is such a headache, that I may just give up and only use the real box set, as I see no purpose of trying to use my MM and dial in one album, or even one song. Ideas?
Thanks to the team and everybody that helps!

Alright, I went into Properties, and after the Title: RCA Collection, I added the name of the album, and CD1, etc. Also, in the Disc number slot, I put in 1, 2, 3.
But when I tried to tag with a picture, it just reverted back to the huge mess. I stopped that on CD1, and guess I will just have to import a photo for 17 CD's. Good grief.
