All you need to do is to export them to a set of WAV files and then you can "open" each WAV file as a new separate Audacity project - and personally I would make sure that you have your import preferences set to "Copy In" "the "Safer" option. It doesn';t actually ediot the WAV file, rather it imports the WAV file in and creates an Audacity project from it.
