Add me to the list. My Galaxy S II synvs but the playlists are only visible (*.pla) in the very ordinary music player that comes standard with the phone. I'd really like to use a player that can utilize replay gain.

Yeah, this is an ongoing issue for almost everybody.

Apparently, if you're using the MSC/UMS/USBmass plugin (your device will show up with a Drive Letter on your computer), the playlists will always be generated as .m3u playlists. Some apps, however, insist on .pla playlists. I don't know if the .m3u limitation is due to the way the USBbass plugin was designed, or if it's an inherent limitation of USB mass storage protocols.

The only way to get .pla playlists on your device is to use the sucky and slow MTP mode. In MTP mode, the software will be able to request whatever form of playlist it requires, and it will happen automagically.

Not sure if anyone else is having this issue with the Galaxy S2, but I've managed to get the autoplaylists to sync from MM4 to the phone, but on trying to play them with the stock player, it plays the first track in the list ok, but then continuously repeats track 2 repeatedly, if I try to skip to the next track it just goes back to the start of track 2 again. Shuffle is not turned on on the phone, however if it is it quite happily goes through the entire playlist without getting stuck at all. Can't figure out what the hell the problem is, it doesn't seem to make any sense to me at all. I've tried winamp for android and it can't even see the playlists at all. Any help or advice would be much appreciated.

I had the same issue on the original Galaxy S after updating MM. Was able to sync properly after disabling USB Debugging, but it would be nice if there were a way to do it without having to resort to that. Never had any issues before the last update.

I am having the same problem.

The default music app sees and plays my playlists; but Winamp does not see my playlists. I sync using the MPT mode on MM3.

I have the same issue as you guys. Samsung Galaxy S2. USB Debugging turned off. I managed to sync my playlists into the media\playlist folder. The default music player finds the playlists without issue but every other player cannot find them. I have tried converting the playlists to .m3u files and storing them in the same location but still no luck.

Any ideas?

Jon

PS - I am using MM3

I have a strange behaviour. Playlist sync and are shown in the default player (SGS2).

But looking into the folder Playlists all PLA files have 0 bytes and are empty but still show up in the default player?

Anyway Im looking into using PowerAMP and I cant get Playlists to work, any help on that?

Should I tick teh Option "Use Linux folder Seperator ..?"

Figured out the issue:

"USB Debugging" was enabled in my device. Just uncheck this option and sync everything and playlists sync along with the songs!

Perhaps there is some kind of website or forum where you can ask.

I don't see how posting on those threads was a double post. If anything this post should be the "double-post". However, those other threads had slightly different issues and so they did not apply to me. Nevertheless considering the device (i.e. SGS2) was the same as mine I thought the posters on that thread could provide valuable insight into my particular problem.

Thanks for the clarification

The documentation does not go into details about the Galaxy S2 music app.

Look for some documentation for this music player app you're using.

I set the folder for Music as \Music\ and for playlists as \Music\Playlists on the SGS2 using MM4's config options.
My point is, maybe the folder for the playlists needs to be something else for your default music player app, like \Playlists\ or \My Playlists\ or any other of a myriad of other possibilities.
