"When MM is updating already existing track in iPod, Lyrics are sometimes truncated. As a workaround is to delete track from iPod and auto-sync again." seems to me as an accurate description of the problem.

The truncation does not happen for files that weren't on the device before syncing, only with files already on the device.

Could it be: http://www.ventismedia.com/mantis/view.php?id=6156 or does it also happen for files that weren't synced to the device?

No they do not. Syncing does not seem to effect the files on my PC unless I change the rating of a file with truncated lyrics on my iPod and subsequently (auto-)sync that with my PC.

2) Do files on your iPod have truncated lyrics when viewed in MediaMonkey?
Yes they do.

3) Do files on your iPod have truncated lyrics when viewed on iPod?
Yes they do.
My two cents...
1) No
2) Yes
3) Yes

There seems to be a lack of clarity in this topic. Are the lyrics truncated as followed:
1) Files on your PC have truncated lyrics
2) Files on your iPod have truncated lyrics when viewed in MediaMonkey
3) Files on your iPod have truncated lyrics when viewed on iPod

I understand that number 2 re-opened the bug and was fixed. It seems it was a display bug in MediaMonkey.

I just installed version 4.1.1.1703 and can confirm that the truncation is still happening with my iPod Classic 160GB.

I'm surprised to read that it is marked as closed in the changelog for this version and in the bugreport says that it is just a truncation in the MM interface which is "Verified 1698 Touch 4G".

The truncation still occurs on the actual iPod and not just in the MM interface with iPod Classic.

The lyrics are fine in the MM library, only truncated on the iPod (after re-syncing multiple songs). When I use MM to look at the tag on the iPod the lyrics are also truncated (but you need to refresh or remove and plug in the iPod again in order to see this).

The steps I posted earlier with some additions:

Best way I found to reproduce the problem:
- Use auto-sync (it only happens with auto-sync not with manual sync).
- Sync a correctly labeled album of any artist with each song containing lyrics with more than 250 characters that was not previously on the iPod. (I will call this Album A from hereupon.)
- Unplug the iPod.
- Change something in the tags of every song of Album A by selecting all its songs in MM at once and editing one of the fields.
- Plugin the iPod again and let it auto-sync.
- Now look up the lyrics of the songs of Album A on the iPod, using either MM or the iPod itself.
NOTE: when using MM to lookup the tag information of a song on the iPod it is important to refresh the page as MM seems to have a cache of the tag information that it uses instead of the information on the iPod.

I can verify they are truncated on iPod Classic 160g, in MM they are fine. I am using latest MM 4.1 release and synced last week.

On my iPhone 4, with latest iOS 7 update, they lyrics seem to be fine, but there are extra spaces between lines, double spaced and triple spaced, that are NOT there in MM. Not sure if this is an Apple or MM issue.

And isn't it that they are also truncated in MM? I don't see away how they could get truncated to iPod if they are not truncated in MM library, so please verify.

I can assure you, the lyrics are also incomplete on the iPod, not just as how they are shown in the MM interface.

As of today, I have synced my iPhone 4 and iPod Classic 160g with latest MM 4.1. The iPhone seems to be fine, as far as displaying lyrics, however no lyrics are visible on the iPod. Before MM 4.1 the lyrics would be visible on both but truncated.

Aha, I see what you mean, the tracks have complete lyrics on iPod/iPhone, but they are just shown as incomplete in MM interface (Media Tree -> iPod -> Music)

Hi, with that step I simply meant changing something in the tags of multiple songs on the PC. So no changing of any data on the iPod (I only own iPods classic, no iPhones or iPods touch). The problem only occurs with auto-sync and when multiple songs are being synced that are already on the device. So new songs, manual syncing, or the first few songs synced are not affected.

Hi, I haven't observed the problem, but I would like to try your steps to reproduce to figure this out.

I just don't understand the steps completelly, it looks that this step:
- Change the name of the synced album by selecting all its songs at once and editing the properties.
is performed when the device is unplugged from the computer, so you are editing the songs somehow directly in the iPhone?
How did you edit them?
