I would suggest that you try MM5 which is more optimized for Video managing.

Are you saying you're having an issue syncing video files? If so please detail the issue you're having.

Hi,
If you can't play the files, then MMW can't determine file format and its content so you need codec to allow MMW to play and decode format in order to check if file is compatible with device and act accordingly.

I'm following even less now. Why would I need any codecs if no transcoding is necessary?

There is a problem with system installed codecs.

NOTE: If you have x64 windows you need to install x86 codecs also in order to make them work in all apps.

I'm fully aware hence creating test files myself, verifying with MediaInfo and still encountering the problem. Anyway, as I said, even officially iTunes transcoded files have the same error.

Hi,
Unlike Audio Video files can contain multiple Audio tracks and even multiple Video Tracks (Different camera angles) if some track is reported as such you should check it and see if it contain some formats that are not supported by device. Eg. most common issue is taht Video file is OK but it contain AC3 or DTS Audio along with MP3/AAC audio track whick makes it non supported by device.

Furthermore, if I try to sync a file of type listed under the "formats supported by the device" under "Compatible media formats" why does it then tell me that the file is not supported by the device?

Not following. If the right file types are set why is it giving me an error?

Re: Doesn't sync videos

That indicates that the right file types (check all sub-settings per file type too) are set in Support Formats.

Standard "file is not supported by the device" message.

Yes I went to the Auto-Conversion bit and added extra formats with Set formats. Still the same issue. Either way, I would have thought a fresh install would have correct formats for iPods out of the box. But even with fiddling it still refuses.

What is the error that you see? Did you check the Auto-Conversion settings in the Device Profile in MediaMonkey, particular Supported Formats? Maybe you don't have the required video type(s) enabled.

Doesn't sync videos

Using iPod 5th gen, I cannot sync videos at all using any method. I have tried various video formats all of which confirm to the official Apple requirements and even used iTunes (yuck) to convert to iPod format and MM will not accept any of them for adding to my iPod. What's the point? How do I override its error?
