I Just had one silly issue at friends house with Yamaha Wireless Speakers where Speaker was on 2.4g and Phone was on 5g WiFi and phone controller app could not control the speaker unless they are on same network.

It is likely that something similar is happening to you, but what exact setting you need to turn on/off I am unsure :(

Gratitude to both. Wife is taking the 5G out of town for an extended stay. When she gets back, I will follow your excellent advice.

Start with checking that UPnP in MMA can find the MMW Server: https://www.mediamonkey.com/support/knowledge-base/mediamonkey-upnp-dlna/mediamonkey-upnp-server-inaccessible/

By the sounds of it, it is the Firewall that is blocking MediaMonkey from being accessed on the network. You may want to refer to your Firewall documentation on how to enable programs from getting through the Firewall.


If you connect via USB you can't start the Sync in MMA (that always is a wifi Sync), but you'll need to start Sync in MMW on the Device Profile: https://www.mediamonkey.com/wiki/Sync_MediaMonkey_with_an_Android_device

Update. I allow MM portable firewall access. I can see the inbound rule. It is specific to location of the .exe file. In windows 10, I cannot set a general rule to allow MediaMonkey.exe app. However, when I turn off the firewall on the PC, the Moto 5G android phone finds the MediaMonkey server. When I turn the firewall back on the problem reappears. I can't get past my firewall. Help?

I am running MM as a portable file. I already sync my own Moto 4g and the settings on the Moto 5g are the same.

I put MM Android pro on my wife's phone. Can't sync though. I went through the wiki. On Wifi it can't find the server. Just spins for ever. On USB, I can't find the Sync button to push. When I try to push sync on the main menu nothing happens. Both are on the same network. I do have a 5G profile and have configured it. I did upgrade to gold but I don't think that means anything.
