Working!

by onesong » Fri Sep 07, 2007 3:37 pm

OK, in MM3 I got it working now.

In MTP-Mode the Playcount is synchronized well back to the PC even if this option is greyed out in the device-preferences.

You got sennheiser Earphone with it. That is good, at least you do not get some unknown/No name earbuds that can be bought for $3 in local store :)

How it works with MM exactly?

For others that are interested in look at player check this review and Trekstor Site

Hi Peke!

OK, here´s my short review of the Vibez:
First I have to say that this is the best mp3-player I ever had, and I had before the Rio500, 800, the Rio Chiba and the Rio Carbon.

First of all I bought if because of the DJ-Function that works very well for me. So on the road you can play your favourite Music, New Music, forgotten gems, Music of a special Yeyr, random Mix, etc.
That´s very, very cool, especially if you have a large music collection.
Also the sound is the best I ever had, and for me, it´s just loud enough.
You can also browse by folders, if you want.
Bookmarks are named Sessions on this device, and you can auto-name them and update a Session.

The Screen is crystal-clear and bright, but if you´re outside in the sun it can be a bit unuseful to read, but that´s with all kinds of displays I think.
Because you can choose different color-schemes you can switch to black and white and so it is best readable in the sun.
There are some screensavers (nice, but not necessary I think), you can show Album Pics, and a Peak Meter.

You can add a Radio Card (for such a small, portable device I think the sound of it is satisfying), a docking station and a cable remote. The latter two are not available yet but are announced for June.

The Accu is user-changeable and lasts for me about 10 hours, but I switch around tracks very very often so this is energy consuming.

You can connect it via MTP or MSC (MSC via Registry-hack).
You can also delete tracks on the device and record via line-in or with the build-in Mic.

But there are also some minor flaws about this thing:
The sennheiser Earphone is not the best, I use a Creative EP630. And this one has a higher impedance, so you can hear sometime hiss if the display goes on or the hdd spins up. So you better use earphones with the right impedance!
Another thing is that the playcount counts after the 5th second of playing a track - very annoying I think!
The Click/Scroll-Wheel is very very good to use, BUT If you use the Bag (Accessory) you cannot turn the wheel so some functions are hard to use like in some menues you cannot scroll down or up and you have to pull the Vibez out of the Bag.
Also a shortcut for "Update Session" and "Delete current Track" would be cool.

But all in all a very nice gadget - smaller than you think if you see the pictures of it- and very convenient to use. It does not look cheap and seems to be high quality, I would buy it again.

But I also hope that some minor things I mentioned above will soon patched with a new firmware! :D

To bring you more hope to you :)
Similar script was made for Sansa players just from demand.

I think that people here will agree with me when I say that MediaMonkey is more than it looks on first sight from out of the box.

Also have one Question for you: How do you like Vibez? I know it is little bit expensive with what you get out of it but could you do me review of device I'm thinking to purchase it I like the look and handling from theirs site. Especialy quality of earphones/earbuds and played sound.

Thank you very much for your kind help!!!
A new hope for my Vibez and MMonkey is rising :-)

Just post in the scripting forum. No charge, all of the scripters are really nice and would probably be happy to help you out. They probably even know what other options are available. I'm looking around for you too, I'm pretty sure I saw a script that did something similar to your request.

Request the Script directly from Mediamonkey? How much is the cost for that?

by nohitter151 » Sat May 12, 2007 8:23 am

You could request a scripter to make a script that would update your playcounts, or there may even be a script out there that does this. Don't give up yet!

I believe the sync back to library only works with iPod.

Vibez / Synch back to Media Monkey not working

by onesong » Sat May 12, 2007 7:33 am

Hi!

I´m a newbie and am testing MMonkey for work with my Trekstor Vibez.
I know that this device is not in the compatibility list, but a some users have reportet the vibez to work with MM so I don´t know if I make any mistakes...

So to the problem:

I can transfer files with MMonkey 2 and 3 to my Vibez, but the "auto-synchronize tracks from the device to pc"-checkbox is greyed out, so the "played#"-Tag won´t sync back to MM!

I can view the content on my Vibez within MMonkey, also the Playcount (only in MTP but not in MSC), but it is not synchronized with the corresponding file on the PC...

Is this only a feature of the Gold version or is the Vibez not compatible?
Am I doing some mistake???

In WMP11 the playcount is synchronized, but WMP is soooooo slow...
