I do not have any issues with plugin.
Can you please open MediaMonkey.ini and under [Last.FM] set line "LogToFile=1".

Now you can use description from https://www.mediamonkey.com/forum/viewt ... p?f=2&t=69 to create debug log and send me LOG DL URL to PM (NOT HERE AS IT CAN CONTAIN Sensitive info on your account) which will show me what and why Last.FM makes issues for you.

I renamed the cache file out of the way and restarted MM, but the next track also failed and the cache has started building up again.

I would submit a support request but the Support function just redirects me to this forum.

Can someone look into this?

Only two cases where MM cache songs is when Cache only is enabled (Yellow icon) and when plugin can't access Last.FM site and login there.

I deleted the Lastfm cache file and then restarted MM, but then the cache file gets instantly re-created once I play a song on MM.
The cache file has the same content as before, and the number of cached files displayed on MM keeps growing (619 by now).

I noticed there is a "Clean cache" button on MM in the lastfm service section, but it doesn't do anything, sadly.

Do you have any other idea?

Hi,
It is very possible that Last.FM rejected some of your tracks to be scrobbled and MM then put them in Cache for sending it next connection.

As you have "Tracks cached = 2161" I would suggest that you close MM -> Go to c:\users\<USERNAME>\Appdata\Roaming\Mediamonkey and rename or delete Last.FM cache file (LastFM_Cache.dat) and then start MM again to see if it will scrobble? Also check if Now Playing is updated on Last.FM.

Please let us know the results.

I'm having the same problem - Last_fm plugin is enabled but the status message is Failed (cached Track).

MediaMonkey lastfm plugin has stopped working for me since the end of March, apparently for no reason.
I tried uninstalling and reinstalling the plugin, but it doesn't change anything at all.
The lastfm icon continues to appear on MM though..

I'm using the latest version of MM (4.1.29.1910).

I'm getting the following message in Option>Lastfm service>Statistics
Service status: Failed (cached Track)
Tracks scrobbled: 0/0
Now playing shared: 0/0
Tracks cached: 544

Could somebody please help me?

Yes, I tested last night, it works, you can also check my profile from signature.

Double Scrobble is also counted if you use MMA and MMW, make sure that you use latest MMA beta for Scrobbling.

I did not activate "overlapping" Scrobbles, just re-activated iTunes and WMP to check that LastFM scrobbling worked (I'm a new user there).

So I guess I have to uninstall LastFM Scrobbles, un- & re-install MM Scrobbler script (and possibly MM too to be on the safe side).
The only limit I see is that's the config I had prior to installing LastFM scrobblers, and I didn't get anything working...

Can you just confirm that you are scrobbling with LastFM on MM and MMA, and that it works ?
(side note: I'm using MM Gold, but my understanding is this has nothing to do with that )

Last.FM doe not allow overlapping scrobbles. So if you are Scrobbling from iTunes you can't scrobble from Winamp or MediaMonkey or,..... Only exceptions are Mobile device players that have specific Mobile ID (?) that can double Now Playing info, but not scrobbles.

MMW plugin is standalone plugin that scrobble to Last.FM, same goes with MM5 which uses newer protocol but result is same.

few additional infos, just in case:
. I'm running latest version of MM (4.1.28.1905) and Lastfm Scrobbler;
. Scrobbler works with both iTunes and Windows Media - but not MM

sidenote: Lastfm offers 2 Windows Scrobblers (!?!) : Lastfm Scrobbler and Lastfm Desktop Scrobbler.
I installed one, then the other.
The one working with other music players is Desktop Scrobbler.
Though I wonder: which should be Scrobbling MM ? Whether the MM script is autonomous from those Lastfm tools, or interacts with one or the other ?
