I think he wants the specific image of teh current playing song?

If you have external art, just get google photo screensaver (or any other photo screensaver) and point it at your music folder.

I can think of a solution to the album art screensaver...you could write a script that copies the album art of a currently playing song everytime a song is played, always under the same name...then you could use one of those picture screen savers and choose that one folder: that way it would always show the currently playing album art. wouldnt it?

I posted a request waaaay back when I first got here asking for a screen saver that quizzed the viewer about what song was playing. It would start by giving a clue, such as the year. Then several seconds later it would give the publisher, then another and another clue, until at the end it gives the last clue (the answer technically), which is the name of the song. The album art might be a good second to last clue. I have seen cable TV systems do that with music channels.

It would make an awesome MM screen saver.

for anyone still interested in this, there is a workaround. download the album art tagger script from this forum: http://www.mediamonkey.com/forum/viewto ... highlight=
with this script, you can export all of your album art to a specific folder, and then you can use any screen saver that cycles through pics to display your album art.

thought I would revive this post. Any screen saver involving album art would be cool. I have huge album covers for most of my albums, so a full screen screen saver would be nice, but apple has a screen saver that has about 25 album covers on the screen and it just flips through whatever album covers you have.

500 to 600 kb's that is a large inmage sounds about like 400 x 450 pixels or around there?

that would show up nice. but any smaller size even jpg would be pixelated when on full size screen of 1024 x 786

still the idea is nice but could be rather cumbersom to include controls in monkey? sounds like a job for peke or one of the other super scriptes here. 8)

album art

hi,
thanks for the reply,
you say they are small, but the art is stored in the music/file folder as a jpeg or bmp etc and if opened then they display fine. (at least mine do :) )
mine average about 500 - 600 Kb in size.

Haven't seen the need to sign up yet, first time I've asked a question.

Most album art is fairly small in size, it would look very pixelated surely if displayed full screen?

Album art as screensaver

hi All,
a feature I thought would be quite nice is, if no user input has been recieved for a given period, 2 mins say, then the now playing album art is displayed full screen, at user input mouse move etc then mm is displayed. Kinda like a screen saver using mm.
Anybody done this or has any thoughts

Cheers
