MM is not very suitable to DJ with. There are plenty of softwares better suited for DJing (VirtualDJ, Serato DJ, Traktor, Mixxvibes Cross, etc, etc) that will help you suggest tracks based on musical key, bpm and other criteria.

Well this thread is old...but i trying to use this plugin to link songs. I dj so I use it to place reminders like these songs have same beats, but its not working. I have songs in different folders so the only way to have certain songs visible at same time is in the now playing pane, but Link tracks isnt an option in the now playing pane. Is there way to get it to work the way i need.

No, this only works within MediaMonkey.

This is a great feature but will it carry over to an ipod classic when syncing? I don't think it will but would love it too

As noted a page back here there is a problem when it is trying to figure out what to play. In my example, auto-dj on, I have Abbey Road 'linked'. I then put "Oh Darlin'" in the currently playing list right after Genny Goodman - Shivers.
When Shivers is over it starts playing Oh Darlin' for about 5+ seconds while the pointer gets busy. Then it fills in all the preivous and next tracks correctly and THEN starts playing track 1 Come Together.

Has anyone found a way to *correct* this. I understand there might be a wait period while it figures out what to play .. but to start on the track then go back.

This is the problem with mediaserver .. it is dumb as a stump it streams, converts but that is about all.
It would be nice if the server perform all functions mmw does (except of course UI bits). Would probably need a settings for the addons for the service to know if it should run it. Or the easier way was to not have the service to anything other than stream.

- Link all tracks;
- search andpull up Sticky Fingers
- link all tracks
so Brown Sugar is linked to both albums.
After deleting one of the two duplicate Brown Sugar files, that track will still play when either album is selected to play?
And this will also be true when using MM Server? I saw some questions on that in a thread...

I'm considering to upgrade MM from 4.0.xxxx to 4.1 for synchronisation with MMA. But only if LinkedTracks remains fully functional. Did anyone experience problems with this script after going from 4.0.xxxx to 4.1?

This works when using AutoDJ, not shuffle.

I’m having a problem with the latest LT (using 1656) – hopefully someone can help.

I'm trying to figure out how the linked tracks are actually linked (beyond Custom5)? It works for all of the sets of songs that I have linked except for one group of songs (it is simply 2 songs). I've cleared out Custom5 for both songs completely so that when I manually play the songs I can individually play each song independent of the other. However, when I link these two tracks together (one is track 5 and one is track 19), I end up with track 19, track 19, track 19, track 5 in my playlist (starting from a blank playlist). This happens if I play either track. This is the only set of linked tracks that skips so many track #’s like that (could that be the issue)? Is LT only designed to play tracks sequentially without skipping track #’s?

Also, is there any way (other than changing the track #) to control which songs play in which order? Is there a “track order” that can be added to the script and kept in Custom5 as well? Has the latest code been posted so that maybe I can change it and add a track order preference?
