I am running MMA 1.2.0.0620 on my Oneplus 3 (A3000) phone, and MMW 4.1.13.1801 on my Windows 10 PC. Whenever I try to sync new files from MMW to MMA, it deletes all the files off my phone then resyncs everything - taking over an hour to complete.

Is this normal behaviour, or is something wrong? I came from an iPhone, where iTunes would only sync any changes (new songs) to the device, completing a lot faster.

Thanks,

Brian
I have the same problem and I am so tired of this. I am currently sitting here ready to go run a 10k but having to wait again because MMA decided it needed to delete everything and redownload 30 gigs of music. It has been doing this 'randomly'* for 2 years. I also have a OnePlus but I have a 2 not a 3.

*When I sync everyday there is no problem, but when I haven't synced in close to a week it will most of the time do this and delete everything.

To add to this, supposing you have a playlist '100 Random favorites' and that it is on the sync list, and that sync (or wi-fi sync) is configured to 'delete tracks not on the sync list'; In this case, each time you sync, MMW will reset the '100 Random favorites' list with 100 new random favorites, sync will cause the old ones to get deleted, and the new 100 favorites will be resynced.

This is by design, though it might not be obvious. It's quite useful though, as it allows you to automatically replenish your portable music collection on a regular basis without thinking about it by e.g. creating playlists such as '300 tracks rated 4-stars+ that haven't been played in the last 3 weeks sorted randomly'.

Hope this helps.

Photo's should remain untouched as MediaMonkey doesn't handle them in the first place.

You'd only remove any content you expect MediaMonkey to sync to the device so MediaMonkey can now manage it. MediaMonkey will prompt what to remove on sync. You can also set which folders are part of the MediaMonkey Library.

When using a SD card in the Phone, and photo's etc. are are allready present on it, is it necessary then to remove all of the media/files before sync'ing to MMW? I know, in MMW there are different sync options regarding removing old files/media and so on.

So what is the best way to put music on the SD card via MMW (or MMA) and don't let it deleting photo's and stuff?

Start with updating MMW to the latest release.

Sync should not re-sync files if they're still on the sync list. If this happens it's likely the connection was lost, this can happen if you removed the database in MMW after the last sync.
