MMA is mostly considered a "satellite" implementation of Mediamonkey, for listening and minor editing (e.g., star ratings, add to playlist). Most complex functions are done in MMWin, and then synced to MMA.
So there is a podcast browser in MMWin, which you would then sync to your phone. And you can choose whether you want to sync the oldest or most recent, and how many to keep on the phone.
It's not a bad system, but it does mean a lot of features are not available in MMA.
