I rated a track on an album on MMW(latest beta) and then synced MMA and it redownloaded it. I rated another from the same album and it redownloaded that, so rated a few more on the same album and restarted MMW, started sync and it redownloaded them.

I'm unsure of what I can do to provide more information. If there is anything I can try that would shed some light, I would love to give it a go.

I've updated both so I'll shake a few trees and see what falls out. Thanks.

You should Upgrade to MMA and MM4 Beta as we improved sync detection algorithm.

For MMA Beta you need to apply to become beta tester from About MediaMonkey screen.

Which version of MMA and MMW are you using?

Rating a song would trigger redownloads, I tried it again just now. I rated a song on MMW and it redownloaded the whole album during sync.

I have MMW set to scan the library at startup and I have MMW running when I start windows, so the library on windows was getting scanned a lot. A handful of times a day.

I also have MMW grabbing lots of things automatically, art and lyrics. I am now wondering if when I interacted with the song on MMW it triggered changes like lyrics and art(album-wide) and that caused the redownload, or the combination of lyrics art and rating? I also have the art set to save to tags.

It should not redownload all tracks only changed ones.

What Value you changed? also do you rescan whole main Music folder often?

Whenever metadata is changed on MMW(gold) and I sync MMA(pro) it completely downloads the tracks again.

Another issue I'm having is that if I start from scratch with a clean MMA install, then prepare an sd card with MMA to use in a card reader to move the music over(about 15,000 tracks on a 256gb card), get it all set up and synced how I want, put it back in the phone then wi-fi sync it, it starts downloading all 15k tracks over wi-fi.

I'm fairly new to MMW and MMA and I've been going around in circles trying to get to grips with it so I might have reached a mental critical mass and I'm missing something obvious.

I've been impressed with it enough that I jumped in with both feet and got lifetime gold and pro, I'm maybe trying to run before I've learned to walk
