I use the AMD Radeon App, I believe the Xbox App can also do this, and in a pinch a smartphone recording the screen. It's often very useful for the developers besides the debug log.

What do you use to screencast?

Do you mean Black Monkey or Material Design (dark) or did you install a different Skin called Dark Monkey?
Only OEM skins:
[*]Black Monkey
[*]Material Design
[*]Material Design (dark) --- I just tried this and it has the exact same problem as the above 2.
[*]Monkey Groove - just tried... same problem

So all 4 OEM skins have the same problem.

Lowlander wrote: Sun Aug 16, 2020 3:27 pm What Skin?

The Album Art window has a large dragable area here.
At the time I was using Material Design but now I'm using Dark Monkey and only the top 25% of the distance from the top to the bottom of the maximize button on the top right of that window. So only 25% of it is drag-clickable.

I'm using a Microsoft Surface Laptop, which has a hi-DPI screen resolution.

Also, I still think these areas need to colored differently. This new 'simplistic' GUI style used in Windows goes against 30 yrs of GUI design doctrine.

This new Windows 10 minimal style causes all kinds of new problems from users not knowing certain areas do things to it being a nightmare to explain things to grandma.

I don't see this issue either ... A single click on the art in the Selected panel opens a window with full size art, and it has a large heading border, which is draggable (see green area here)

My issue with full size art is why have we lost the right click view option at point #1 in the above image? I don't understand why that was dropped, nor the other image right click options there, which were also useful ... and I don't think the removal of the click option from the summary multi-column (ie. select whole album) was helpful either.
It definitely a bug then if we are both getting dissimilar behaviors. It needs to be colored differently so that you know where the drag area is. This new minimal interface is actually quite a regression.

I see in the Mantis conversation about this issue, that they don't see compelling need for this, and are waiting upon any more Tester response on this issue.
I would have agreed with you in MM4, but no so much in MM5.

In MM4 I had the MediaTree at minimal width, to reserve space for the main centre panel. I used the MediaTree horizontal scroll bar when navigating , even though it was a fiddly PIA.

In MM5 they have made it easier to toggle the MediaTree panel on off, so I now have it at large width, and mostly toggled to hidden.
They haven't migrated the Ctrl+Alt+T behaviour to MM5, but you can easily restore this via the Hot Keys facility in Tools|Options.
The other thing about MM5 is that the new Contextual scroll|filter behaviours have reduced reliance on the MediaTree ... for me at least.
Also there is no horizontal scroll in the rhs panel, neither in MM4, nor MM5, so now LHS & RHS are consistent. ... A horizontal scroll control would be have been just as useful|annoying|redundant on the rhs when using the Play|Selected panel with the Advanced layout options, but nobody seems to have missed it there

CosmicKnowledge wrote: Fri Aug 14, 2020 12:58 pm [*] Songs --> right click --> Properties --> Artwork. Option to insert image from file system is missing. It used to be up front. Now it's buried under Lookup Image --> Browse. That's too many layers deep for a common function.
I agree, and it is annoying to have to wait for an Internet delay. I. also. have made this point previously.
CosmicKnowledge wrote: Fri Aug 14, 2020 12:58 pm [*] When you add an image to a song(s) by doing Lookup Image --> Browse, the window "add cover" appears. Double clicking on the image no longer brings it up in a different window like it did in MM4. This function is needed to inspect the art.
I can't see this as an issue. The "Select Image Files" panel, which you use for image selection, before the "Add Cover" panel, has already given you a chance to view, in extra large icon mode, or open the image for inspection.

I am more interested when you go the other route ... ie. use the Internet Image Search, without pressing the disk Browse button ... you can right click to look at any Internet image at full size ... I would like to have left|right navigation buttons, so I could more easily preview what is on offer, like this

Then MM5 should have the option to enable/disable a horizontal scroll bar on the tree.

The problem with what you're saying is that you're presuming that your use of MM is the same as everyone else's. It's the same problem as a developer telling a user how to do their work. In my case, I need to be able to still see the tree while working in the main window within a finite screen size. There are tons of assumptions that you are not considering, namely my use case.

R0019 - Window Titlebars Not Prominent.

by CosmicKnowledge » Sun Aug 16, 2020 2:09 pm

R0019 - Window Titlebars Not Prominent. This is one of the biggest problems with the new minimalistic Windows interface. In fact, it's inferior to Windows 3.11. You cannot tell which areas are click-draggable to move a window. Some windows have a very thin click-drag area while others are larger. Overall it's not intuitive at all that windows are even clickable. For example, I thought the Album Art popup window was no longer movable until I accidentally discovered it was just a very narrow vertical band that is click-draggable.

I'd like to add support for #4 :D
I manage all of my artwork myself for use on my media server.
It's only a small thing, but when you use it often it's annoying.

Cheers!

4) You can drag & drop from File Explorer

5) Right click in the select image window and use Open from Context Menu if you want inspect Artwork before applying.
4) Yes, and you can also right click --> Paste an image. But, there are cases when you have a file already stored in the same directory as music and explorer.exe in Windows is not already open there. It used to be much faster in MM4 since Add Image was right up front.

6) Seems fine here

7) A little delayed, but D&D of folder in the Location node did update the Location node to show the folder in its new location.

8 That seems a task for Skins and Skinners
