The issue is fixed in version 4.1.9.1764.

This is quite a rough way but a working one. Use ONLY if you want to completely stop all syncing features on ALL portable devices.

Navigate to "Options" -> "Portable Device Sync" inside MediaMonkey and see the DLL files on the list: "d_iPhone.dll" etc.. Those are the trouble makers. Next, just simply navigate to C:\Program Files (x86) or whatever is your MediaMonkey install location. Search for those DLL file names and rename them to for example "d_iPhone.dll.old" or whatever. Now MediaMonkey won't recognize the files until you rename them back.

If you choose to update MediaMonkey, you may have to repeat this process or maybe even search for new updated plugin DLLs. Operate at your own risk.

Hi, this shouldn't happen starting from build 1754, the StorageInfo.xml file is now created only on first USB sync (not on connect).
If it really happens for you, then please generate debug log and send to eSupport, but based on your report here:
http://www.mediamonkey.com/forum/viewto ... 31#p413938
it seems that the re-installation process hasn't gone right and that there are still some files/DLL from the older MMW versions?

With Windows 8.1, I continue to have that same issue; USB storage non-Android gets folders installed as if it is syncing with MMW Beta. Each time the USB connects, the folder is created if absent. All versions up to 1758; which I cannot install without MMW 1758 immediately crashing upon startup.

There is a regular version and a beta version.

I'm also having this problem, but only as of a couple of months ago. Can't see any point to this "feature". Not only that but it seems there is a new sync profile create EVERY time a device is plugged in, even if it is the same device. My USB stick shows up a dozen times in the list.

So the only way to keep MediaMonkey from writing to every new USB connected device you use is to disable EVERY device EVERY TIME you connect a new one? That seems borderline virus-like.

Hi, it is no longer related only to Android devices, the explanation is here:
http://www.ventismedia.com/mantis/view. ... 205#c41042

If you don't want MediaMonkey to create this file then go to Options -> Portable Device Sync and there is 'Show' column including checkboxes, disabling the checkbox for the corresponding profile should do the trick.

I'm running MM 4.1.7.1741 on Windows 8.1 and it's still creating the directories when I insert a USB stick and MM is running. This was also happening when I had MM 4.1.6.1736 installed. I exited out of MM, deleted the folder from the drive, but when I started up MM again the folder came back.

There's no setting. From my understanding the folder is supposed to be only created for Android devices.

For the record I am not able to reproduce since build 1624 was released.
