Hello
One question:
If for a reason I have to reinstall Mediamonkey.
Would Mediamonkey re associate tracks automatically at installation?
And in that case would it mean that I'll have to change my icons all over again?

Thank you.

If you're using windows 7:

1. go to mediamonkey tools --> Options --> General --> File types
Uncheck: "Re-Associate file types on startup(recommended)"

2. Download "FileTypesMan": http://www.nirsoft.net/utils/file_types_manager.html
and use it to change the icons for the file types you want.
see: http://www.howtogeek.com/howto/12383/ch ... windows-7/

Hope that helps.

For example, As in MM, you choose some all all file types to be asscociated with MM. In that screen, have a list if icons to associate with file types, for example the MM monkey logo could be for MP3's or all audio files and a different one (custom icon provided by MM) for playlists etc...
Maybe this is a wishlist item? Should I be adding this to a wishlist somewhere?
Ideally I would like something like this too.
I would support this wish.

You certainly could add it to the wishlist but I doubt it will be added anytime soon. Its easy enough to just change the file icons via windows itself - just google it.

That is controlled by Windows, not MM.

Okay....again, I'm missing something. First, there was no icon folder so I created it. Second, I want to assign an icon to individual file type(s). ie MP3, WMA, WAV, m3u etc... I don't see each individual item in the main directory or in the *.msz files. Where do I place the *.ico's and how do you specify the file type? Do the *.ico's need to be converted to *.bmps?

Where are additional icons for customization?

by steviegt » Tue Mar 17, 2009 9:11 am

I want to change some icons so I can tell the difference between file types and to change the imported playlist icon. I found this in the forum but it was from 2005. It provided a link to dounload a zip files with new/additional icons but the link was bad. Any suggestions?
