I agree it is nice to have. Will see what I can do to add that to CMS engine for site.

yes i agree with you mizery made it looks more now to me like they want an album view style of skin hosting site.
so they can just click on images for downloads.

thats a good idea maybe peke can say how hard it would be to make one like that since he made his with the images
on the skin's download page.

There are thumbnails on the individual pages. So thumbnails are available before downloading. However I think what is being looked for here is a type of Gallery view that shows the thumbnails in the list so that you can then look at all the skins and click one ones that interest you thanks to the thumbnail (instead of opening them all up or choosing by names that sound interesting to see the thumbnails)

peke has some thumbnail images on his site.
and there are screenshots on the forum.
and there are screen shots on the wiki pages for our skins.

but having to look at different sites is a little tiresome for a few members.

but i've been saying it before so again just keep tab on this skin hosting stuff.
they have been trying to get it going but they also have to make patches
and the new program for the mediamonkey, so that take priority over any hosting
site.

most of us skinners or script authors try or best to make and keep the links to our
stuff update and able to be found easy.

so bare with everyone on this and when its ready we all will welcome the new site
with all our updates to our stuff.
:D

There is already a solution from me http://www.happymonkeying.com/indextest.php in CMS form but still not completely online.

they are working on a site hosting page for the skins and scripts.
but they got sidelined for awhile with the upgrading of mm3 to mm 4. so they
will some time have one, until then we all try to put them were we can.
some use the forum for screenshots and links to them. most of us use the wiki
for posting screenshots and download links but that is just to be a temp solution
i think it will be removed when they get their host site up.

but any place as of now is a good place as long as there is a post in the forum to find
the skin. :D

i did have mine on my site but my web site host is not the fastest and my site has limits
on size. and i ran out of room for them so i put them in my public folder at my msn site. :D

MediaMonkey Skin Hosting

Hi everyone,

I've got a high-speed dedicated server with lots of extra bandwidth/disk space, I was wondering if anyone in the community would be interested in using it for hosting MediaMonkey skins. I'm not sure why the current preference is mediafire/rapidshare/other ad-revenue hosting sites, but I thought it might be nice to let users be able to download these skins without all the ads and pop-ups.

I'm thinking at first I could offer direct file hosting to at least add a fast mirror that people could download from. If there was enough interest from the skin developers, I could write or implement a CMS to give people a way of browsing the skins hosted on the site.

Again, just throwing this out there for feedback, I don't know anything about the rhyme or reason behind how this content is being hosted now.
