Hi folks,
I'm aware of the ask that we don't repeat stuff, but I have searched and gone back through several pages of topics before posting. If it's been done before, my apologies - my search skills will have let me down.
I've been using MM on Android quite happily for a long while (currently version 2.0.0.1173). I don't "sync" using MM on the desktop, preferring to manually add/delete files to/from the phone's music folder from my NAS using Windows Explorer. I don't change the stuff on the phone that much, so this has been OK.
Today I added some instrumental/classical music albums to the music folder. Great for noise cancelling headphones on long train journeys, while still allowing me to work. So, I know the music is in the phone folder, and I know the phone can 'see' it, and that MM also shows it when I drill down a bit, but it doesn't show up on the usual home/artists screen.
So -Screenshots - sorry these are so huge. I followed the instructions to post them, but can't see anything about resizing.
Number 1 - showing the list of artists on the 'home' screen which is my usual 'goto':
No sign of Antonio Vivaldi...
Screenshot 2 - I go to 'folders'
Then I have two choices -
And if I choose the lower of these above, there's Antonio Vivaldi as hoped:
My question is why these files don't show up in the main 'artists' view? I've done a couple of rescans, but still not working.
In my searching I did find a reference to music tagged as 'classical' not showing up in the 'music' view... but this might be a red herring?
For example, I have 3 Ludovico Einaudi albums in the folder -one shows up OK in the home screen; two don't.
What am I doing wrong, or what do I need to do to fix this? Is it just a case of editing the tags to change the genre to something else?
Any help very gratefully received.
