Re: Specify fixed case words for Case Checker addon

As it's a relatively simple but useful addition to allow custom capitalization, I've added and tracked it here: https://www.ventismedia.com/mantis/view.php?id=18292

Re: Editing Skins

BTW, if you ever want to share your changes with other people, in case you think others with the same problem can benefit from the same solution, you can publish it as an addon. When MediaMonkey loads its LESS/CSS, it first loads it from the skins and then it loads from addons. This means that if yo...

Re: Customizing Sample Skin (Black Monkey) for Dark Mode

It's actually simpler than you might think! If you take a look at skin_base.less (in MediaMonkey 5/skin), you'll find the following: @textColor: contrast(@baseColor, black, white); If you override @textColor, you can override the base text color for all elements. Here's what I got by overriding just...

Re: MediaMonkey 5.0.2.2500 Alpha - Installation / Initial Experience

The file is quite large. Let me know if the database file is also needed as I have a copy from before (16:56) and after (18:02). Pro tip: Text files and database files both compress very efficiently. Putting them in a .zip, or even better, a .7z, will make the files much smaller and easier to send.

Re: Adding a lyric source

edit: ...and it's submitted! First time ever doing anything with node.js and npm. I'm learning all around today! :D Congrats; great work! However, before I can approve it: You forgot to fix that one error I pointed out earlier. The addon breaks when lyrics cannot be found, because you need to call ...

Re: Adding a lyric source

Yep, exactly what TIV73 said. The _add keyword is interpreted by the native MediaMonkey engine, and it adds all LyricsSearch_add.js files to LyricsSearch.js before the Chromium engine loads it.

you know that you are talking to a total beginner about JS ... ;-)
I'm sorry, I forgot that fact
Glad that you got it in the end (Many thanks to TIV73 for helping out while I was away!)

Re: Adding a lyric source

Thanks for answering, TIV73! In addition: Can lyrics sources be standalone files? Yes, they can. For a quick reference, see this segment of the help guide: https://www.mediamonkey.com/wiki/Getting_Started_(Addons)#Adding_to_scripts And see the built-in "lyricsSources" addon located in Scripts/lyrics...

Re: MonkeyFlow 1.4

Would it be possible to maybe make a new build with a new Vizard version (6)? Or could I get the source code of MonkeyFlow to try it myself? Or any other ideas? It's not yet fully complete, but I've been developing a successor to MonkeyFlow which works in MediaMonkey 5, if you'd like to try it. Ins...

Re: Adding a lyric source

Great to hear! If it's working now, why don't you publish the addon on the site? Go to https://www.mediamonkey.com/addon_system/admin/ to submit an addon. I'd put it under Tag fixers.

Re: Tool chain for development

Personally, I would recommend using Visual Studio Code. It's a great and flexible IDE, and I especially find its global search very useful in MM5 addon development. If I don't know what piece of code is responsible for a piece of dialog, for example, I'll search for that string in VS Code, which wil...

Re: Code snippet for "open external program"

It's in actions.openExplorer. :)
navigationHandlers['explorerFolder'] is the function that it uses, which in turn uses app.utils.openExplorerFolder to open a file in File Explorer.
