Re: Genre

Whatever the case I think the best way to use genre is classify artists as you see them, with an emphasis on simplicity. If you use too many sub-genres you risk the problem of remembering what "Classic Rock-Bluesy-Southern Rock" meant when you first catergorized your music. If you want to...

Locate Moved/Missing tracks not working

Let me tell you what happened first: 1. HD started acting funky 2. Freak out 3. Run to compusa to buy 250gig HD ($60, go rebates!) 4. Connect new HD and copy all music over (in win explorer) 5. Locate moved missing tracks - worked! 6. Attempt to delete defective drive, but maxtor utility deletes new...

Re: minor GUI improvements

* when you press search (or ctrl+f) MM instantly opens the search node, it would be better to wait until the user presses the OK button in the search dialog. (i also think that the "OK" button in the dialog should be renamed to "Search", but that's not so important) Definitely t...

Well, hopefully you guys will be able to support firewire ones (I have one of those) though to tell you the truth you are probably best off by focusing on mp3 players that are currently on the market (mine's some 2.75 yrs old). I can use ephpod.

Ipod version Support

From what I'm reading here in the forum it seems iPod support has not been tested on older IPods. Has anyone gotten it to work for 1st or 2nd gen firewire Ipods?

My only request would be that they be displayed in the main windows (as opposed to the track editing dialog boxes) without the leading zeroes.

Not sure if you're being facetious, but in case you're not:

Lowlander is referring to the volume output power of your listening system, be it your car cd-player, stereo, whatever.

Sadao, may be I don't understand your idea but it seems to me that Risser's mask does exactly what you are proposing. It does display the album rating to the left of the album (just like using sort by:max(year) displays the year). Heh, I assumed that the magic node described would not display the r...

Correct me if I'm wrong, but this doesn't actually show the album rating, right? Perhaps an addition that would be great is to have more flexibility in the node structure mask: <display item|group field| other qualifiers> this would transalte to: Album Rating|icon:top level\<concatenate(Album,"...

Perhaps it will be possible to add ctrl + click multiple selects in the node tree? At any rate, the same effect can be achieved by clicking each artist individually and selecting 'play last'.

I prefer the way it's setup now too.

I know this is less than ideal but there are a number of third party applications you can use to synch your media monkey playlists with the ipod (e.g. ephpod, anapod). It's not seamless, it's not ideal, but it works well enough that you need not give up MM. The developpers are very aware of the need...

I don't mean to be overly laudatory (), but you should check out Pablo's magic nodes script. While it doesn't give you 100% customization of nodes, it comes pretty bloody close.

Look at how the playlist node is broken off and displayed in the top right hand corner.

Super genres|child of:genre|icon:top level\<genre|left of:->\<genre|right of:->\<album artist>\<album|sort by:max(year)> 8) . Awesome, thanks much! On edit: I made a small change and now magically MM is showing the "Reading tracks..." progress bar . That only works when loading tracks, no...
