Dummy Songs and Files?
Is there a way to have a dummy song in my library or Now Playing list? I want to have a placeholder for a song I want to get but which I have not yet found or acquired. Since it won't be an audio file, the Player will just skip to the next one. I already do something like this in the folders for my ...

Re: Merge 2 Tags for Songs
Ooooooh. Don't say that.
I just spent an hour trying to figure out the interface of that script, and I got nowhere. And I use things like that all the time, and I'm pretty good with regex.
Is there a tutorial out there somewhere?

Re: Reinstall Won't Recognize Skins
1) Lowlander: How do I reinstall skins I modified? 2) Peke: No, I do not see any skins at all in Tools>Extensions UPDATE: I guess what I'm asking is if I had a skin installed, and then modified it for my purposes with Themeeditor7, how do I reinstall it without an *.MMIP? I have an intact subfolder ...

Reinstall Won't Recognize Skins
My employer upgraded. I had to reinstall MediaMonkey 4.1.23.181 from some 4.x. I reinstalled to the same folder. My old skins are still there and visible. But the new version won't recognize anything but the default ones. Suggestions? Also, I don't just want to reinstall the skins; I had modified a ...

Re: Figuring Out a Corrupted DB
I am looking at the PlaylistName field of the Playlists table in an MM.DB file If I sort that table by the PlaylistName field, it starts with some default playlists (Favorites, Last 50 Played, etc.) and it ends with the L's. It looks truncated. Which is a weird thing ... but, whatever, it's what I h...

Re: Figuring Out a Corrupted DB
I'm still looking for an answer to one small part of my first question regarding an old DB. To me, it looks like the DB was truncated. When I look at the Playlists table, I can't think of any other way for it to just end at a certain first letter for playlists. So what are the sorting rules for non-...

Re: Recover Playlists from Versions 3 and 2
Will version 4 open an MDB file? (I don't care if it converts it, as long as it opens it).

Reconstruct a Missing Playlist
I have an old DB from which some playlists were lost. I am trying to figure out how I might reconstruct a playlist, if I can just build off a usage pattern. So, I know I can sort the old DB by "last played". That helps. Here's what I wonder. When I am playing songs from some big unsaved pl...

Figuring Out a Corrupted DB
I have recovered an old DB. I had always wondered why some of my stuff did not come through with an upgrade. I see now that the old DB had been corrupted. Here's what I wonder. I was able to open the DB and view it in another program. One of its tables was cutoff, in alphabetical order, according to...

Open 2nd DB Temporarily
I have a current library DB that I am happy with.
I want to open a second DB temporarily without disturbing the current DB.
What is the safest way to do this? Change the default DB location in the *.ini file (and then change it back)?

Re: Recover Playlists from Versions 3 and 2
OK. I found an MM.db that has not been modified since 2008. I also found a smaller one called MM.DB.Pre31. I am assuming this is from some upgrade I made to 3.1 or 3.2. And I'm still looking deeper. My next step is to open one of these. Two questions. 1) Will version 4 of MM open them? 2) How do I e...
