USB DAC repeatedly ignored
I've been having problems getting MM5 to play reliably through my AudioEngine D1 USB DAC. I have playback selected for Internal Player, which shows that it has the DAC selected. There is also a Chromecast Audio in the network. The symptom is that when I Play, the sound goes to the computer speakers ...

MMA under ChromeOs's Android environment
Hi, I got a new Chromebook last November, the first time I had one with the Android environment on board. I tried then to install MMA but it wouldn't. But, I just gave it another try... and w00t! It works fantastic. Gapless playback from UPnP to a Chromecast Audio, and it's scrobbling as well. This ...

Re: MM window-restore failure with external script
Checking in here again to report that I've found a solution to this very long-standing problem. In the script above, and in all the Python scripts that I've posted which intercept MediaMonkey's COM events, I have a loop that, basically, executes pythoncom.PumpWaitingMessages() and then sleeps 200 ms...

Re: Question: state of scrobbling?
Hey Barry!
Hmm. "On" was the default state, but no fields. I tried changing to Off, exiting and re-entering Options, and turning it On again, still no fields. Maybe a bug, or some kind of UI change?
This is build 2256, on Windows 10.

Question: state of scrobbling? [#16720]
I see there are options under "last.fm service" but no place to enter my account info. Is this not yet supported in MM5?

Re: Gapless streaming [#11716]
I just downloaded and installed the latest MM5, trying it for the first time in months. It's definitely running smoother. I played an album to a Chromecast and it was fine... except for the gaps, like four seconds between tracks. I know that casting is not the same as streaming to a DLNA renderer, b...

Well, first I have to convince my wife that a $1200 hardware outlay is OK.

Re: MM5 Media Sharing via HEOS
TheEmpatheticEar, thanks for mentioning that HEOS support DLNA. I am looking hungrily at Marantz's ND8006, but I hadn't dug into the HEOS capabilities yet.

UPnP: playback continues after end of list
There's actually two bugs here. MMA 1.3.5.0858; MMW 4.1.24.1883 In MMA, opened UPnP, selected the MMW server, selected an album. Set to cast to Chromecast Audio. Tapped the first track; it started playing. But in MMA, the track list was not in album order but in alphabetical order. (bug 1) Note that...

Re: Using the COM interface with VS2017 and plain C++
Dave Plummer, I have been doing more intensive work with this lately, and created some C++ code for dealing with the COM objects. When you get an IDispatch object, you need to look up the "DISPID" for the method(s) you want to call and then invoke them. This works roughly like (no guarantees this wi...

Re: MM window-restore failure with external script
I would like to revisit this issue. I've been working lately to create a script that runs under Node.js, similar to what I did a few years ago in Python. This project has required that I write my own C++ add-on to Node in order to access the COM library, but it does work. And I find that the same is...

Re: Using the COM interface with VS2017 and plain C++
Dave Plummer, I just wandered back into this forum after a few years away. I saw your question about using IDispatch. In this Wiki page I wrote some time ago, I have an example of using PyIDispatch.Invoke() , in the OnTrackSkipped() handler. Honestly, it's been a long time and I don't remember how t...

So tired of deteriorating UPnP support
MMA 1.3.3, running on LegacyOS (Marshmallow) on my old Samsung tablet. MMW 4.1.20, running Windows 10 Home. I added a new UPnP server to MMW with "update play counter" enabled so that the server will scrobble; this is for the case where I'm playing through a ChromeCast Audio. This server copied over...

Renamed sync-playlist issue
Back when I was running MMA on my old tablet, I had a top-level playlist called Tab with various sublists, some of which were selected for sync and some not. Recently I decided this wasn't a good name and changed it to "Fon" (on MMW). As far as I can see, MMW properly updated all the internal refere...
