1232 does not work with a podcast I want

I installed 1232 and then attempted to subscribe to this podcast: http://wpgb.com/podcast/quinn.xml It went through the "updating" process, flashing episode titles across the botton of the screen as it went. But no episodes are now listed. The same program is available here: http://www.640whlo.com/p...

Disc # field tooltip in "Track Properties" BUG#5406

I noticed this in 1227. Don't know whether it occurred in earlier versions. When editing the Track Properties, the tooltip that appears when hovering over the Disc # field is the one that obviously belongs to the Track # field: "Order of this track on the album." It correctly appears when hovering o...

Small problem with installer

There is a very small problem with the installer for all the 3.1 releases I have tried including 1227. When I install, I make the necessary selections on each screen, and either click the appropriate box or press the Enter key to continue to the next screen. The next screen instantly appears, as it ...

Re: iTunes

Is there a way to use MM with an ipod without dealing with iTunes? This has probably been asked but I can't find it anywhere Personally, I use a combination of Media Monkey and Sharepod to manage the music and podcasts on my Ipod Nano. MM fetches my favorite podcasts as well as Itunes does. I have ...

Is there a volume control key?

Using beta 3.1 1219 in unskinned mode.

I find the small vertical volume slider in the bottom right corner difficult to use, and wonder if there is a keystroke combination comparable to the F8/F9 in Win Media Player to adjust the volume.

Re: Backslash problem in global podcast options

What then, in the unlikely (but viable) case that someone actually wants their podcasts saved as "Podcast.mp3", "podcast (1).mp3", etc. ? Perhaps he should be given a sobriety test? :) Did you get a chance to try to replicate the nightmare scenario that occurs if (a) these unlikely files are create...

Re: Backslash problem in global podcast options

Compromise suggestion: If the entry in DPT ends with a variable, e.g. <Artist>, consider it a file name and don't append a backslash. If it ends with a constant, consider it a directory so that we don't create "podcast[1}.mp3".

Sounds interesting. Trying to download the 1.2, but getting "database connection error" from Media Fire.

Re: Backslash problem in global podcast options

"Anyway"?? Are you saying the default filename's inclusion of the title is not due to the default filepath spec's ( C:\Documents and Settings\Chris\My Documents\My Music\Podcasts\<Artist>-<Title> ) inclusion of the title? But I'm not using the "default filespec". The DPT field contains only "c:\Pod...

Re: MediaMonkey v i.Tunes

Until recently I did not know there was anything other than iTunes for the three things I used it for: to add music to my iPod, to rip CDs, and to download podcasts. Then I started hearing of other programs that could do one or another of these things. I tried several for each function, and found mo...

Re: Podcast download directory

So what exactly are the advantages of doing it that way? Also, how can you be sure that isn't already the case? To answer the second question first, I had the target directory open in Gyula's Navigator, a freeware file manager similar to the old Norton Commander. It updates the file size display in...

Re: Backslash problem in global podcast options

The program should assume that the content of the field is a directory I disagree. Even though the behaviour of this field is undefined, in practice it accepts a filepath with variables e.g. C:\Documents and Settings\Chris\My Documents\My Music\<Artist>-<Title> , and your suggested change would bre...

Re: Backslash problem in global podcast options

It gets worse. I attempted to remove a podcast episode that had been downloaded as "podcast.mp3" in the root directory. I selected the option to both remove the episode and delete the file. The error messages that popped up are the stuff of nightmares. I had to use the Task Manager to force Media Mo...

Re: WMA vs. MP3

I have an iPod, which does not play WMA files. So in my case I need either MP3 or M4A. If that's not a consideration for you then there probably isn't much practical difference between the various formats. People with ears more sensitive than mine might notice some subtle difference in audio quality...
