Play count is part of MTP, but there is no guarantee that an MP3 player will increment the Play Count. I currently also have a Sansa (Fuze) that currently doesn't increment play count. Very annoying. I'm waiting for a firmware update to add this functionality.

Bump. I've having the same problem. Occasionally, a podcast will time out while downloading. This wouldn't be a huge problem, except that it keeps the incomplete download. And it marks it as having been successfully downloaded, so even if I delete them, I have to go down the list and manually redown...
