Thank you for taking the time to provide the detail of your solution. I'll probably heed your warning (I'm not very familiar with networking) but your explanation did help my understanding. Hopefully the developers will address this issue.

I'm glad I'm not the only one with the problem. I'm not sure I understand the fix you described. Are you syncing to a folder on the network?

I am trying to accomplish this with the autosync feature and the usb plug in. In essence, I have an MM lossless library which I then auto-sync to a folder on my hard drive (thereby creating a lossy library). When I edit tags on the lossless files I run auto-sync and it updates the tags of the lossy ...

I did originally and then I unchecked it and still get the message. Also the device is empty so I thought it shouldn't matter since this is the first sync (otherwise you'd always delete the files on the source device during the first sync). In any event, it is unchecked and I still get the message.

Auto-Sync

I am syncing a lossless library to an archive folder on my PC using the USB device plug-in. Every time I run the sync I get a dialog box that tells me that I have 11,000 files on the device that are not in my library (and gives me the option of deleting the files - ouch!). The 11,000 files are actua...

Soundcheck works - you just can't configure the db that the songs are averaged to. It will automatically level to 89db in the ipod regardless of the settings adjustment in MM3. The developers have already confirmed this.

i agree that the filtering should actually filter with regards to auto-sync. this would help greatly in keeping lossy and lossless libraries synchronized.

That only works within MM3 playback. I want Soundcheck to be configurable so that I can manage the playback volume on the ipod.

Make Soundcheck Volume Configurable

MM3 currently defaults to a Soundcheck volume of 89db and this level can not be changed. I suggest this be made configurable.

Thanks for the reply but I still don't get it (not too smart I guess). As an example, if I select MP3 320 (very high quality) and Encoding quality of Fast Lower quality), what is the quality? Is it being converted to 320? If it is, which I assume it is, isn't that high quality by definition?

Auto-Conversion Quality/Speed Trade-Off

I asked this question about a year ago and never received a response. So, I'm trying again. I have a question about the auto-convert dialog box options. Within the advanced tab there is a drop-down where you can specify quality/speed trade-off for encoding. How is this different than bitrate selecti...

Filter Not Working with Auto-Sync List

Background: A- I am using the latest version of MM3 B - I have 3 types of music files: (1) Lossless files ripped from CDs I own, (2) lossy files purchased online (mostly MP3) and (3) Lossy (MP3) versions of my lossless files - those in #1 above. C - I sync the lossless (#1) and lossy (#3) libraries ...

If I open MM and select PP from the View menu, the PP pane is displayed and immediately begins flickering. MM locks up and freezes. I have to force an MM shut down and reopen it.
