Actually, I would have put in an autorun.inf myself if it weren't such a common target for viruses to infect and spread with.
Oh. =I
I'll have to rethink that one then. TY for the heads up.

Re: Ipod+Last.fm

No second opinion needed. Your diligent reply definitely hit the mark. I just tried it out — running the .exe straight from the root dir — and everything worked flawlessly. The autorun.inf file I dropped in the root worked as well, causing QTScrobbler to immediately launch automatically from...

Re: Ipod+Last.fm

qtscrobbler can even be saved on your iPod Classic itself, so you can scrobble plays on it no matter what computer you plug it into. Whoa. This sounds fantastic! Is it a simple matter of copying the qtscrob.exe file over to my iPod classic using (for example) Windows Explorer? Do I need to be mindf...

Sync MediaMonkey with Zune 80

1 - MM Gold 3.2.0.1294 2 - Windows 7 Professional 3 - Zune 80 (Firmware 2.5) I just bought this device after my iPod 4th gen crapped out. I love MediaMonkey and I love the look & feel of my new Zune, but...can I love them together? I can't figure out how to get the device to sync with MM. I keep...

Exactly. No crashes *unless* I edit tags toward a track's end or during transitional crossfade into a new track.

Thanks to all members of this thread for their valuable input. I was able to verify that the correlation posited above is valid, and the workaround is successful. I'm pleased to report that I am no longer vexed by periodic MM crashes! :)

Re: MM crashing upon edit of track currently playing

Does it only happen when the track is near its end? I can't say that I have ever drawn any correlation between (1) REM time, (2) edits made (3) resultant crash; granted, I was not looking for one. Though, now that you have mentioned it, I will observe and report back here with my findings. Supposin...

MM crashing upon edit of track currently playing

Anytime I edit the tags (from within the MM interface) of the track that is currently playing, MM crashes. I notice this occurring most often when I am editing the star rating or the lyrics. Can anybody help with this issue?

Track info pop up hot key

Does anybody know of a way to designate a global hotkey that will show the track info pop up On Demand rather than just when a new track begins playing?

I would also be interested in a script (if one exists) that accomplished something comparable.

Thanks.

Temporary directory, location of

In an effort to optimize the efficiency of my MM installation, and enjoy a better experience overall, I am wondering: Should my Temporary directory (Options; General) be set to a location that resides on my local drive, or to a location on my external drive (which is where 100% of my music files res...

Re: How does it work?

RC is correct, there are dozens of scripts available that will "mass edit" your file tags in a variety of colorful and flavorful ways. Some are pretty heavy on the features, others are bare-bones minimalist. I'm presently trying to recall one in particular I've used before that sounds like...

OK this answer is seriously eluding me. My question concerns configuring Filters & Views . In a previous installation of MM3 I was able to rearrange the order of columns for a playlist by bringing that playlist into view and simply dragging and dropping the columns as I want them to appear. I ca...

Re: Track ratings lost between launches

Check you Task Manager after shutting down to see if MM has closed or if there are any other process still running that should have closed on MM shut down. Thank you, I will be on the lookout for this. Question: is there any way to save library changes manually between shutdowns? Say, if I were to ...
