Re: MediaMonkey iTunes device plugin (d_itunes.dll)
I have a question: how are timestamps for files affected when using this plugin? Here's the reason I ask: I synchronize my music to my home server as a form of backup, but it seems like a LOT of files that I haven't (purposefully) touched in a long time are being written to the server because their...

Re: MediaMonkey iTunes device plugin (d_itunes.dll)
@Zeeno: There is a weakness in the iTunes interface that I use in that playlists are only referenced by name, thus moving or renaming playlists strange behaviours occur. When you switch between the different types of folder translation (Build, Flatten etc) it is important to remove any playlists wi...

Re: MediaMonkey iTunes device plugin (d_itunes.dll)
@Ben In MM playlists can contain other playlists ie just like a folder. To try it 1. New playlist call it A 2. Select A and do New playlist call it B 3. Select A and do New playlist call it C B and C should be nested inside A. You can drag and drop playlists between playlists too. With the Build Fo...

Re: MediaMonkey iTunes device plugin (d_itunes.dll)
Hey Mark, Thanks for the great plugin. I just upgraded to iOS 4 and wanted to make use of nested playlists on my iPhone, but I can't seem to figure it out. How do I get my nested playlists in MediaMonkey to sync and create folders in iTunes? Right now in MediaMonkey, I have playlists inside of playl...

Re: MediaMonkey iTunes device plugin (d_itunes.dll)
I don't see the change that might cause this ... there was alot going on at that time ... Do you use any conversions when sending the files to iTunes? Mark No conversions. Only things checked are: Sychronise playcounts and ratings Soft delete playlists Delete tracks that aren't on the auto sync lis...

Re: MediaMonkey iTunes device plugin (d_itunes.dll)
Found when it starts. The dates start going wrong for me starting with the plugin uploaded 02/22/2010. All the plugins before that are fine, but this one and all the ones after cause the modified date to change when a file is first synced between MM and iTunes using the plugin.

Re: MediaMonkey iTunes device plugin (d_itunes.dll)
@zeeno MM has an option "Modify timestamp when updating tags". From your description iTunes seems to be behaving like it's equivalent of this switch is permanently on, even if you modify attributes directly in iTunes (try renaming a track!) the date updates. The modification and added dat...

Re: MediaMonkey iTunes device plugin (d_itunes.dll)
Mark, I definately think it's iTunes that is changing the modified date, but I think it's because of the plugin. Just a guess, but it seems like iTunes is appending the ID3 tags or something upon import, and by design whenever iTunes changes the tag, it updates the modified date. I did a few tests t...

Re: MediaMonkey iTunes device plugin (d_itunes.dll)
Hi. I was using an older version of the plugin (1/29/2010) and just updated to the most recent one and noticed some new behavior and I'm not sure if it's intended or not. The first time a file is synced between MM annd iTunes, it's modified date stamp is changed to the current date/time. Once the so...

Re: Line out crackling with iPhone & MM
I don't know enough about this stuff to argue the truth of the point one way or the other, but (if I understand you right) this explanation strikes me as very odd. What you seem to be saying is that MediaMonkey is putting the files onto my iPod "straight" and that, when I browse the conte...

Re: Line out crackling with iPhone & MM
Thanks, at least I know it's not just me that's experiencing it. I got around it by lowering the volume on the iPod/iPhone. I'd prefer to do what you are (syncing in iTunes after MM) as it fixes all the sound problems, but then my playcounts go crazy. When you have some time, could you do me a favor...

Re: MediaMonkey iTunes device plugin (d_itunes.dll)
When I download d_iTunes.dll to my MediaMonkey/Plugins folder and then try to run MediaMonkey, I immediately get "Error during player initialization" at the MediaMonkey splash screen and then continually get "Access violation at address...in module 'kernel32.dll' (and sometimes MediaM...

Re: Line out crackling with iPhone & MM
It also doesn't make much sense that the same issue doesn't happen for others -- I have an iPhone and haven't noticed anything like this at all. The majority of my files also have soundtrack values... and no issues.... You'd only notice it if you were running the iPhone at max volume and since most...

Re: Line out crackling with iPhone & MM
I don't know, I find it really hard to believe that anything else in the iPod DB could affect the sound other than the soundcheck. Yeah, I don't know either. It's possible that the sync in iTunes is just slightly decreasing the output volume of the iPhone so that at max volume/line out, I'm not hea...

Re: Line out crackling with iPhone & MM
I don't think it's a hardware issue; i think it's software (particularly MediaMonkey). When I sync music from iTunes or drop an mp3 into the Files Lite app, I can play them at full volume with no problems. And like I said, if I sync all my music with MediaMonkey, then go into iTunes and run a backu...
