Re: Importing MM5 Playlists back into the Playlist Tree

If you're upgrading from MediaMonkey 4 you can use the MediaMonkey 4 database itself, it contains the Playlists: https://www.mediamonkey.com/support/knowledge-base/purchasing-licensing-mediamonkey-for-windows/upgrade-mediamonkey-for-windows/ You place the MediaMonkey 4 mm.db file in the MediaMonkey ...

Re: Importing MM5 Playlists back into the Playlist Tree

Do you mean in the Send To > Playlist recently used list? Or which drop-down are you referring to? If you're looking to scan external Playlists you can do this with Add/Rescan Files by scanning the location the Playlist files are saved: https://www.mediamonkey.com/wiki/WebHelp:Adding_Existing_Files_...

Re: error message when adding files

Check if you can play the file in MediaMonkey when you open it from File Explorer. There may be a corruption in the files themselves.

Please also tell us which exact version (Help > About) of MediaMonkey 5 you're using and what File Type(s) are affected by this.

Re: Chromecast can't connect after connection is lost

Try with the current release before starting troubleshooting: viewtopic.php?p=485073#p485073

Do you know why the Chromecast becomes unavailable? Does a MediaMonkey restart resolve this?

Besides solving for Windows N if you have that: https://www.mediamonkey.com/support/knowledge-base/mediamonkey-playback/audio-files-dont-play-on-windows-n-editions-of-xp-vista-7-8-8-1-10/ (Windows updates seem to require users to install codecs again). Also make sure you're on MediaMonkey 5.0.1: htt...

Is instead maybe the problem that MediaMonkey covers the Windows Taskbar when it's set to auto-hide?

Re: Scan concatenates composer tag to artist in display

It looks like your scanning from a DLNA Server, thus the tags are provided by that DLNA Server. There is nothing MediaMonkey can change on how the DLNA Server read the files tags.

Re: Track number gets mixed up when synchronizing

Note that MediaMonkey uses Album and Album Artist to define an Album (thus Album Artist needs to be the same for all files). Additionally to Album > Album Artist MediaMonkey also uses Disc# > Track# to define Album sort order. This means that when you're talking about well tagged, the Album, Album A...

Re: replaced music library drive, now static playlists no longer work

You need to update the driveID when swapping drives: https://www.mediamonkey.com/wiki/index.php/Moving_MM_to_a_new_computer When you remove files (the old files in this case) they are also removed from Playlists. So the proper procedure when swapping drives is to NOT scan for new files and instead f...

Re: How to populate custom fields?

The Properties > Classification tab has the Custom fields. You can also have them shown in the Filelisting and can also use them as Criteria in AutoPlaylists and Advanced Search. This will allow you to locate without a value for a specific Custom field. If you're importing from a text file, check ou...

Re: Advice: external BD, DVD, CD burner

No issues using external USB connected CD/DVD/BluRay drives. Asus seems to work best, but LG, Pioneer, and Lite-On also worked for me.
