Re: Music (Library)

As far as I know, managing collections is only available in the gold version.
Check Tools->options->Library->Media Tree.

Re: All tracks are doubled

Glad to hear that, and am looking forward to seeing that.
I'll be happy to assist with beta testing, if needed.

Re: All tracks are doubled

A better handling of driveID change (ie. auto-detect) has been discussed a long time ago, but nothing has been done with it by the developers. That's a bit of shame. This seems to happen often enough to warrant a fix since moving data around happens all the time. After I started this thread another...

Re: All tracks are doubled

Seems like a rather common problem, with all the solutions/how-tos/addons threads (also here ). I think this all "could" be avoided if MM identified that all by itself. Here's what I'm thinking/suggesting: Whenever MM find new files, before adding them it could check if an identical song (in the son...

Re: All tracks are doubled

Just as you wrote, the Medias table now has two entries and the duplicates songs in the songs table each point to the different IDMedia, 50 and 51. This SQL query: SELECT * FROM Medias WHERE Medias.DriveType = 4; Produces this result: #|IDMedia|SerialNumber|DriveType|Label |ShowLabel|Comment|IsAudio...

Yes, this seems to be it.
You're my candidate for the most-prompt-and-helpful-person-in-a-forum-award for 2013. Now I just need to figure out where do I cast my vote.

Re: All tracks are doubled

Try mediamonkeys file menu and the library maintaince links see if that clears up the duppys, You might also try thr find missing files link and see if it adjusts them then. But i think it took the id of the nas changed so it thinks theres 2 of them but cant find the on so it grays out the songs. 8...

All tracks are doubled

Oh man, this is nasty. I keep my media on a NAS device. I mount it using CIFS/SAMBA on my PC XP SP3. I upgraded my NAS's software the other day. As a result, it upgraded my SAMBA server, and I re-did my configuration from scratch. As a result, my SAMBA share got a different. What I am sure about is ...

Re: Lost all DB data

Instead, MM silently scanned the tags from files again. That would only happen if you told it to do so, which means you'd both had to tell it to scan the files and change the setting to take the file tags (unless the timestamps on the files was modified outside of MM). MediaMonkey doesn't keep a ba...

Lost all DB data

Man, this blows. I kept the DB un-synchronized with the files. It's a long story. I did a lot of tag cleanup work. That took a lot of time. And today I noticed that all my hard labour has gone down the drain. It's all gone. Is there anything I can do to recover my work? Does MM keep a DB backup some...

Re: MM Installer *should* check MM isn't running beforehand

It happend when I upgraded to the latest 4.0.3.1476. I had one of the betas installed. 1473, if I'm not mistaken.
Edit: I just recreated it by trying to re-install the 4.0.3.1476 version while it was running (in micro player mode, fwiw).

MM Installer *should* check MM isn't running beforehand

I forgot to close MM before running the installer. This is what happened: --------------------------- Error --------------------------- C:\Program Files\MediaMonkey\MediaMonkey.exe An error occurred while trying to replace the existing file: DeleteFile failed; code 32. The process cannot access the ...

Re: Discographies

Sorry, can't help you. All I know about these rules comes from: http://www.mediamonkey.com/wiki/index.php/WebHelp:Configuring_Directory_and_File_Formats/4.0 It's the first time I see this <Group|Name...> and <Album|sort by:max(year)...> stuff. Where in MM can I use this notation? Where is it documen...
