Help, rescanned and my library doubled in size
OK, I think I know why my library went from 250,000 songs to 500,000 songs after doing a re-scan. The problem is now, how do I get rid of all the duplicates? I rescanned my NAS from a mapped drive letter, previously in the past I would scan using the \\sharename of the NAS I assume this is what happ...

Please add Genre selection to categorize toolbar
It would really save a huge number of clicks if you could add a button to the Categorize toolbar with a drop down list of the Genres, just like we get for "Occasion", "Mood", etc. I would think Genre is much more important of a field to have on the Categorize toolbar in fact. Rig...

Re: A Toolbar control for Genre updating?
I'm not sure what your question is, but you are right that there is no "Genre" toolbar button. You could instead select tracks and drag/drop them to any genre under the "Genre" node to change them all at once. Thanks Peke, I understand that, but dragging and dropping is very dif...

Re: Multiple Playlist Nodes
Is it possible to have multiple Playlist nodes in MM 4? My music library is divided by file format. I have both FLAC and MP3 collections in MM. I don't prefer to have a central repository of playlists, I'd rather look for playlists that reference FLAC tracks in a "Playlists" entry associa...

Re: MM 4.1 which Tablet do you recommend?
Hi all, Jenmeer has reported my exact situation as well: Synology NAS with music library, wanted to use MM to "play to" DENON Network Audio Player (or Pioneer). If the Android MM version could get a "play to" feature, it would be awesome to use the app as a controller. The other...

A Toolbar control for Genre updating?
I'm not finding a drop down button that I could place onto the toolbar to select Genre. (so i can multi-select 100 files in the grid then set them all to the same Genre with one click). I can however do a similar activity with the classification buttons which allow me to place a drop down of lets sa...

Re: A missing tool or a wish?
mediamonkey makes the now playling playlist a static m3u list, each time you start mm, it does keep the songs in it from the previous session in its database and readd them to the new m3u list. (unless you set it to clear them.) so i think the tool bar for now playing can not have the feature you w...

Confused about "Collections"
I'm assuming the idea of adding a "Collection" is if I have multiple disk drives indexed by MM, that I could then segregate the root drive letters of those disk drives into "Collections". Is this correct? I tried adding a new collection but it appears that they do pretty much the...

A missing tool or a wish?
I think this is an oversight and not a wish list item but here it is... All the menu options in the now playing menu are not available as toolbar buttons that can be hosted in tool bars. For some of these options you still have to have the now playing menu showing and use multiple clicks to do thing...

Re: Review of Remote Control Solutions for Media Monkey
For me Monkey Mote blows them all away... I've tried them all and had various problems with all of them including Monkey Mote. The latest version of Monkey Mote has fixed some connectivity issues, and is rock solid now. For me Monkey Mote loads a 10,000 song Auto Playlist in seconds, none of the oth...

Re: Changing classifications
Oh that makes sense why the ID3 people thought you needed both a BPM and Tempo tag is beyond me. It would be nice in a future release if the general purpose fields Custom 1 thru 5 could be "named" in MM and have the UI provide a drop down list style of updating these columns just like the ...

Re: Changing classifications
Is the name of the classification type on the DB? or is it hard-coded in the exe? If its on the DB I should be able to change just a name with a database utility.Lowlander wrote:You can't rename the fields. However you can type any value in them.

Re: Changing classifications
You can delete them manually from the Classification nodes in the Media Tree (right click on one to delete) or try: http://www.mediamonkey.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=18536&hilit=remove+genre thanks that worked. I use BPM for tempo. How would I change the classification called "Tempo...

Changing classifications
Does anyone know how to delete all the current classification selections for Mood, Tempo, Occasion, Quality and enter new ones? These are not working for me especially the obscure one called "Stax Volt" whatever that means. I'd like to start all over with my own classification codes.
Thanks
