Re: 1390: Freeze and Loop

I'll double check today. I've been trying to figure out how to split a 25GB MKV file with no luck but I can at least send the log.

Re: Video Performance

Okay will send a log. I actually have one on hand that I made a week or two ago playing one of the same files but I couldn't see any errors. I'll send that and a fresh log. I own the originals (not a pirate) and can re-rip with something else if you have a suggestion but these are done with a licens...

Re: Video Performance

FYI I'm not ignoring you I'm just still trying to figure out how to use the AVIDemux. I did pull the video into the program and it said to expect stuttering if the video contains b-frames. The video stutters horribly in AVIDemux from the first frame. I'll keep playing with this over the weekend.

Video Performance

This is a follow-up on an older posting. I'm think I've duplicated the MM4's BD MKV video issues on another PC. The ones that the no one can duplicate. This weekend I built a brand new media PC using a Sapphire Pure Fusion MB/CPU based on the AMD E350. I believe that MM4 uses an embedded version of ...

1390: Freeze and Loop

I loaded 1390 on a newly built dedicated media PC and after scanning the library it listed duplicates for every song. Playback of 24bit and multichannel flacs caused a freeze and a loop of 10 seconds of the song requiring taskmanager to kill the process. I've since rolled back to MM3 and it works fi...

MM$: Run DLNA Server As A Service?/Stutter Update

I'm planning to run MM4 Gold on a WHS 2011 server to serve up 16 & 24 bit flacs, MKV videos and podcasts to devices in my other rooms. It would be really nice if I could run this as a service so that I don't have to be logged in. Is this possible? And if not would you consider it as a feature reques...

1378 Video Playback On PC

Local playback with 1378 seems to be a step back from earlier test builds. I loaded the non-debug version and playback of the video portion of BD MKVs stutters and lip sync is way-way-way off. The files are way too big to upload but I even reripped from the original and the same problem occurs. Note...

So far 1377 is serving up MKV files just fine including 5.1 sound.

Re: 1373 Media Server MKV Support [#7828 #7299 #7841]

My replacement SSD arrived today and I'm up and running again. :D Preliminary testing (just a quick check) with 1377 has MKV showing up correctly as the media format on the Oppo BDP-93 and it seems to be playing fine. Preliminary testing with the WDTV live has it playing MKVs via 1377 just fine as w...

Re: 1373 Media Server MKV Support [#7828 7299]

Thanks Rusty,

My main PC (and MM4 server) had an SSD failure today so I won't be able to test again before next weekend. Thank goodness for backups. :D

Thanks for everything.

Re: 1373 Media Server MKV Support

I submitted debug files for tests with the WDTV Live, the Oppo, and MM4 on my laptop over the weekend.

Re: 1373 Media Server MKV Support

Just for grins I loaded MM4 on my laptop and tried the same test. MM4 on my laptop plays MKV files from the same share just fine, but would not play the same file from the MM4 DLNA server on my desktop. If the problem isn't the MM4 DLNA server then my WDTV Live, Oppo BDP-93, and MM4's player must al...

Re: 1373 Media Server MKV Support

That's why I'm testing with two devices. Both devices play MKV files just fine. As a test I played the exact same MKV file via a share using the WDTV live - that eliminates a device issue with the WDTV-Live and also eliminates the possibility of a corrupt file. I cant test the Oppo with shares but h...

Re: 1373 Media Server MKV Support

Okay I unchecked the "convert unsupported" box and restarted MM4 and rebooted both of my devices. With the box unchecked and using "location" both show the folders as empty (they aren't empty I tested the files locally and through file sharing). Using "title" they both devices show the title but no ...

1373 Media Server MKV Support [#7828 #7299 #7841]

1373 seems to play MKV files (Blu-Ray) pretty well locally but still insists on converting MKV to WMV when streaming to other devices. I've tested this with both my WDTV Live and Oppo BDP-93 - the connection is wired gigabit Ethernet. The Oppo will eventually attempt playback but it's a frame at a t...
