I got to the bottom of it. I think it was hung up in the MMW settings. I synced a number of times after updating to 408 and was having the same problems. Then I went to the sync menu in MMW, and under "auto sync > library" i turned the "confirm updates" toggle OFF. Then the next ...

The only difference is I now get a nice dialog box that pops up asking me if i want to upload the playlist to MMW.
I clicked "YES".

That is 100% correct. If I create new playlists on MMA, there is no way to get them onto MMW. I can either leave them on MMA or delete them from MMA but uploading them to MMW is not an option.
