Re: Tricky tagging situations

Hi Anamon, here's how I approach these tagging situations. 1. I append the media format (CDS, CDM, 7", 12" etc.) in brackets to the album tag. Additionally I'm using one custom tag for the release type. Possible values I'm putting there are "Album", "EP", "Single/M...

Re: SUB GENRES

Of course I could do that manually and without formal hierarchy: "World;Ethiopian;African" but FIRST you need to be very disciplined and its a lot of work and SECOND a programmed/programmable hierarchy would be the basis for AUTOMATIC hierarchy tagging: In the tag hierarchy dialogue I def...

Re: SUB GENRES

I can understand that, but what's really the difference between using "sub genres" and using "multiple genres"? For example, list your track with Rock; Punk Rock - then its listed under both genres and you have the option to listen to it under either one. I second the wish for s...

Re: Main competitors

After stumbling upon this topic, I thought it might me a good time to re-evaluate a few of the music managers I'd installed and tested in the past. Feature-wise I only found one strong competitor for MM, the Helium Music Manager, which is unfortunately not free. All other programs had to many flaws ...

Hello Christoph, with this script you can predefine tag sets for each custom field. It works pretty well, but nonetheless I support your wish for a native MM implementation of a drop-down selection box for the custom fields. BTW, I've set up one custom field as Release type with possible tags being ...

Instead of a delimeter between 2 artists, I'd suggest a delimiter around one artist (sort of an opening and closing tag). This delimiter would only be saved in the tag, but not visually represented. The main advantage is that users can put whatever they want between two artists: commas, semikolons, ...

Another bug encountered:

The external panels Similar Artists, Other albums and Top tracks aren't working.

MM throws an error message, saying that there is a problem with the SQL query and the external panel remains stuck at the loading graphics.

Hi trixmoto, thanks a lotfor the update. Now MonkeyRok available the move to MM3 can be completed :) During the first tests I found that MonkeyRok 3.0 has problems with showing "Albums featuring". No matter what song I select, the Albums featuring list displays a bunch of albums that are t...

There is a new version (1.5.0.1) with removed bug. Thank you for reporting this. Thank You very much for the fast solution. Works great now. The changes You made in the new version are very valuable. Well done. :D I'd also like to make a small suggestion for a future version. Could you change the e...

I am sorry, but I don't know what is an auto-sort. Please, could you be more specific? The proper English term would have been "auto-organize". Sorry about that. And thanks for hinting me in the right direction. I'm getting pretty close to what I want with the following node: min. 5 track...

What I'm really missing is the all qualifier, which is not working in 1.3b. It's suppossed to add an "All" node under a Magic node. Is there any chance to reimplement that qualifier. Well, I'll try to fix this. But honestly, I don't like such node at all. No one music catalog software has...

The Multi-Artist method I described has worked for me since MM3A1, still works today in MM3A5, so not sure what could be the problem with yours. As for your comment on a second field for secondary artists, much like Steegy said, what if you have more then 2 artists? Wouldn't really solve anything. ...

Ok, can you do this: Expand folder tree and ensure that no subfolders are selected scanning and then scan for files. Thanks for feedback. Thanks for your reply. That's probably how it's supposed to work. But in reality, if you deselect all subfolders, the root folder gets deselected as well and the...
