My only concern with too many custom fields is that they probably won't be stored in the mp3s. Am I wrong?

Other than that, I would like some of the custom fields to have an 'autocomplete' feature when editing in the main MM window, kinda like the genre tag.

- There were restricted options for child of: because the scripting system gave access to just a few of system nodes, but that's been changed in the latest builds so now you can use pretty much any node you want, including genre . More requests! -Function Masks: Album Rating\<round(avg(rating))|group by:album>\<album> -More Child of options: I would like to be able to place a super-genre node just beneath the genre node (well, ideally, I'd like to be able to re-place the genre node but the dev's would have to give 'hiding' ab...

thank you Sadao!!! It works, except that 10 is below 1 - 9 so I must use 01 etc probably That's right. The issue is that custom fields are text instead of numeric. How can I have the album artist in brackets next to the album title? I don't know how to do this, or whether it even can be done. @Pablo?

Pablo,

I think you should add an example to your documentation where one of the masks is sorted without the 'sort by' qualifier: e.g. Rating\<rating|sort order: desc>. While you talk about this in the tutorial, I think most people will probably use your examples as quick references.

Try using: Album Rating\<Album Rating|sort order:desc>\<Album|sort order:asc> In magic nodes 1.2. Make sure that your Custom field is titled 'Album Rating' The '\' represents the levels of the nodes: Album Rating \ -> Level 1 <album rating> \ -> Level 2 <album> -> Level 3 The '|' are used to separat...

Re: Quickie

I thought I read somewhere that the new release would have the ability to auto-rename files that start with "the" or "a" or "an", etc., but maybe I'm crazy. Or maybe it's there, and I just haven't found it yet. I don't think it's been implemented. You can check out the scripts forum; someone wrote ...

Lowlander, I've experience a similar issue with the Release Year tag. It may have happened with album art as well, though I probably didn't notice it: Another odd issue. Every now and then, when updating tags from amazon, the release year for track number one does not get updated. It's the only fiel...

To add to that, MM displays numbers in front of the title in the album node, the now playing node and the tracklistings node. Note that the tracklisting will show the numbers only if you select 1 album at a time, which may explain why you're seeing the numbers in the track title for 75% of your alb...

Is this in the now playing window?

MM will prepend the track number to enforce play order. It's not actually doing anything to the file.

I generally use the super genre in the genre names. Like hard rock, classic rock, punk rock, rock rock & roll. And even Rock en Español and Dutch Rock. This way if I search for rock all variants are displayed. Also the same goes for when I look for Dutch music. As I also have Dutch Pop, etc. This l...

Does anapod allow playlist synching? If so you can create your Ipod playlists in MM and use anapod to synch them. That way you don't have to worry about your HD structure.

While the dialog is logically correct I can see how it is confusing. This should probably be a yes/no or ok/cancel box.

I use it for category type folders, like genre, so that they don't intermix with other windows normal folders.
I get it. I usually use '_' to achieve the same effect.
