If it's in the Recycle Bin, don't find it!

OK, So I cleaned up the few actual duplicates on the list, and shut down the Monkey, restarted it to rescan the external HDD where I keep my mp3s. The external is configured so there is NO recycle bin- when I say go, the file goes. Except in Media Monkey. When the drive was rescanned, the Duplicate ...

Me too

I'm having similar issues-

364 of 12,111 files showing as duplicates, and maybe a dozen or so are truly duplicate in title/artist/album.

All are in my Virtual CD (I'm at work and the external HDD o' tunes is at home).

0 Dead Links, 8 Duplicate Content files.

*skrtch skrtch skrtch* Huh?

I'm with Shrimp- "will appear" is kinda like "can't miss it". Lil' help...? And maybe it's a Wishlist item already, but could "Get Album infor from Freedb" be set so if there's data already found it pops the window as if multiples were found, thus presenting the "Swap Artist and Title" function alre...

Auto Playlist for tracks not heard yet

How can I set the criteria so only tracks with nothing (blank) in the Last Played field are selected? <Edit> aHA! It's the "# Played" field! When = 0, track not heard yet! I feel smart and dumb at the same time. <edit> And as a corollary, is there any way to update the Last Played field when it was ...

Off Topic: In Praise of Goo Gone

I know this is an international forum, and I'm not sure if it's available outside the U.S., but if you're a CD collector, Goo Gone is your friend. http://googone.com/products_gg.shtml I'm ripping my collection, and while the songs rip I apply drops of Goo Gone to the price tags, jewel case seals, an...

I'm using 2.2.2.78, and I just ripped three tracks on Windows Media Player, from three different CDs, but the Monkey won't rip them. No volume leveling, 192k, relatively short file path. I did notice all CDs have data, so maybe it is a version issue. I was under 2.3.1 was still in Beta. Has that cha...

Hadn't thought of that

Wow! Thanks for taking time time for that response.

I'll try the discs I had trouble with yesterday under cooler conditions.

And turning off the volume leveling is a good idea, too -
simple is sometimes more successful.

Thanks!

Last track not ripping

So, I'm working through a pile of mint condition CDs (direct from the plant) and three times now, three discs, the Monkey can't rip the last track on the disc. As I recall, the tracks run from the hub out, so the higher numbers are out at the least-stable part of the disc. I'm on a laptop, the the d...

In Auto Organize three digit track numbers become two digits

I rip quite a few audiobooks, and to keep playback in order, I usually just name the tracks numerically. Most audiobooks have over 100 tracks, so I start with 001, then use MP3Tag Studio to make the filename (or some part of it) the track number. I just tried a similar process with the Monkey, which...

Palm device sync?

I've recently added a Treo600 to my utility belt, replacing a Treo180. Now that I have mp3 capability on my phone (including rings), I find myself using [gasp!] Windows Media Player because it has the plugin to transfer files. Since the Palm won't show as a drive (as far as I know), I'm requesting P...

But what of file changes?

I think I'm on the same page here, similar situation. But more questions: How to manage songs ripped when the external HDD is not connected? When I make changes to the songs in the Virtual CD (on the local HDD), will those changes be synchronized to the files on the external HDD? When and how? Why n...

Player "Open File" Button looks like an "Ejec

Thoughts on the Player buttons: An 'Open File' button is nice, but should follow interface conventions and display a folder, maybe. As far as I have seen, a triangle pointing up with a line under it usually indicates eject. Makes sense to have an 'Eject CD' button in the player, but this one is an '...

I had the same issue on two succesive discs. Listened to them, and the tracks in question were skippy.
The read surfaces on both were, as we used to say, "Hazed." But selectively.

Now for disc three... we'll see...

Whoa- thanks! I guess I'm not used to the conventions yet. The CD Module is exactly what I was looking for! I do agree that popping the disc at the end of the rip would be nice, but otherwise, I'm getting more into the Monkey every day! And the MixMeister BPM app owked pretty well, but make sure to ...
