Re: MMS 0.0.5: Initial Setup Questions
1. Right, this way for now, something more user-friendly tbd.
2. Yes, for now use MM5, but more features are planned to let MMA to work more closely with MMS.

Re: MMS 0.0.5: Experience from MM5
would I ever need to view MMS from within MM5? There are currently no plans for this, even though I can't rule this out in longer term. For now, if you don't need the sharing/streaming features of MMS, then MM5 is the only thing you need. Btw, if you store all your content in MMS and then add it al...

Re: Filtering (2124)
thanks. ... the "questions" were mostly trying to make the point that MM5 filtering is initially confusing .. and could appear to be broken We consider removal of the search feature that skips spaces, as it probably isn't useful in most cases and can be a source of confusion. It seems to be matched...

Re: Filtering (2124)
Hi Barry, the search by default starts at word boundary, but ignores any subsequent spaces within one field. Apart from this, it is able to ignore diacritics, but doesn't have any other feature to e.g. handle typos. Hope that this answers most of your questions. However, some things probably can be ...

Re: MMS for Synology NAS?
We don't provide Synology builds yet, but if you are a little adventurous, you can download the MMS at https://github.com/mediamonkeyserver/mms and run it on your Synology, providing you have/can install Node.js 8+.

Re: Navigation
Nicely summarized by Barry. Just a bit clarification from me: re. Customization - I agree that MM5 should work out of box for most users. While the customization options are great, they should be needed only in some cases. And that's the way we try to tune the MM5 UI. re. Tree nodes - While we got q...

Re: Reduce SPAM-Mails?
We have several layers of protection, starting from captcha, then there are some blacklists tested and finally posts can be reported/deleted manually. It seems to me to be working pretty well recently, do you really see that much spam?

Re: Database setup
MMS doesn't directly take over MM4 or MM5 database, as it can be installed on a completely different machine (Windows or Linux based, a NAS, etc.). That said, the transition from a working MM5 installation should be rather easy: Just install MMS, then find it in MM5 and configure it to synchronize t...

Re: More info about MMS?
MMS uses SQLite. There isn't any limit on # of connections, only what your HW allows. And yes, the DB is supposed to by modified concurrently by multiple connections.

Re: Issues with MM5 2115
4. We could change the default, even though I think that personal preferences will vary here. The generic Genre icon is shown only when we don't have artwork (yet). The Composer view shows all the items belonging to a particular composer, i.e. the items don't have to repeat this information and that...

Re: Issues with MM5 2115
4. You can switch to MM4-like Genres view by the top-right View Selector (choose between Genre and Genre category views). 5. I see your point, but I'm not sure that making the numbers visible only when the 1st one is visible would make it better, seems to be rather inconsistent to me. Will try to th...
