Problems with duplicate files.

I use MM from a portable (debug) installation on an external USB3 drive to enable me to swap from my desktop at home to my laptop while away. The library is primarily flac files, high bitrate mp3 tacks and the odd m4a. I sync from this library to a mapped network drive (N:) on my home desktop conver...

Re: Monitoring

Do you ever run both MM installs at the same time? Does the one on the desktop run fine when the external is disconnected? .....it's only when you try to run the external MM that there is a problem? I don't run two copies at once and the problem occurs running different installations of MM on diffe...

Re: Monitoring

Again check the Device Profiles under Tools > Options > Portable Device Sync as it may be scanning them. Yes, that is why the tracks on the N: drive are being scanned. However that leads me to a separate problem with duplicate tracks being synced to the N: drive but I will post a separate message f...

Re: Monitoring

After making certain that MM is closed (also check task manager process), try putting some files on a flash drive then disconnect flash. Generally Task Manager is the way I exit MM as inevitably it is 'Not Responding'. Now, disconnect external hard drive. Insert flash drive and start MM. MM is on t...

Re: Monitoring

MM has spent 10 minutes 'Monitoring 0 of 0 (U:\Music\Library\) on startup. It is pretty much unuseable until the monitoring actually start Spends 10 minutes at startup monitoring what appears to be empty, yet it's unuseable before it even starts? What does that mean? That is the message that is dis...

Monitoring

MM has spent 10 minutes 'Monitoring 0 of 0 (U:\Music\Library\) on startup. It is pretty much unuseable until the monitoring actually start and it is using 0 to 2 percent of the CPU according to Task Manager. What is it actually doing?

Re: Have two Playists open at the same time.

Which is just the same as 'Send to' playlist. I would prefer a window that you can drag and drop files into the right place in a playlist as in the 'Now Playing' window without the risk of losing your work when you play a track from the main window. Just a suggestion for the wishlist.

Re: Have two Playists open at the same time.

Just jumping onto the back of this one. Would it be possible to have a separate 'Playlist' window akin to the 'Now Playing' window. I tend to trawl through tracks playing them to see which ones to add to a playlist. At the moment I have to remember to save the tracks to the playlist from the 'Now Pl...

Re: MediaMonkey Not Responding

Yes, I think I sent a report a few years ago but I'll do another one. I have tried the Maintain Library option and I have tried with a new database on a number of occasions. It doesn't seem to help. Oh, and as I said I have probably sent near a hundred of the generated debug error reports but as I h...

Re: Ext SDcard unavailable in Options after KitKat update #1

Hi, I just thought that I may share my experience. I have managed to corrupt 2 Micro SD cards syncing from MMW to a Galaxy S4 and an S4 Mini both with KitKat. The phones were connected by USB with the SD card in place. The transfer seemed to start okay (the S4 transferred something like 60 tracks ou...

Re: MediaMonkey Not Responding

Hi, Is there any update on this because I have been having problems with MMW freezing for years. I normally use the latest debug version as a portable installation on an external drive to swap between desktop and laptop when I'm away from home. Today it has frozen about 5 times in the last hour nece...

Re: Socket Error

It appears that the reinstallation of MM reset all my options and the Network was configured to use a Proxy Server (not something that I set up myself). Unticking the box seems to have sorted it.

Thanks for the pointer,
Mac.

Socket Error

I run my main library as a portable installation on an external drive that I use on my desktop at home and laptop while away. I also have a separate library of lower bitrate tracks on each of my desktop and laptop. Yesterday, after numerous freezes and crashes using the portable version I started MM...

Re: Album Art Tagger 5.2 - Updated 26/10/2013

Just a follow up. I ran the script again on my Windows 8 laptop with the portable installation of MM and it found no tracks with linked album art. This was strange as I had aborted the script (which closes MM) with over 8,000 tracks still to be tagged. Normally, when I (infrequently) run the script ...
