Thanks for the reply Scooter. I was wondering if it was just me, so I'm glad to hear I'm not necessarily crazy. Unfortunately the auto-organize and the sychronize tags won't work, because the mp3 files I'm trying to relocate currently reside on CD, which does not allow writing. So if I try to auto-o...

locate moved missing tracks not working

I have numerous CDs of mp3 songs that I want to relocate to a new 500 GB hard drive. I copy them using MM2, and then in order to preserve the playlists and other data associated with the mp3 songs on the CDs, I go to "Locate Moved/Missing Tracks". Thing is, sometimes this works, but sometimes it doe...

Retrieving moved/missing tracks not working.

Help. I just archived over 4 gigs of mp3s to a DVD using MM's built-in data disc burning. The folder that I burned from on my hard disk I renamed in order to break the link with the files in MM. MM is no longer able to see the mp3s I burned from the HD after the rename, so they now appear in the Dea...

Filter out Virtual CD tracks

Is there a way to filter out tracks in the Virtual CD when creating an auto-playlist? I'd like to create an auto-playlist that shows all my tracks rated four star and above that aren't in the virtual CD. I've set the "path/name" to "doesn't include" and then have tried the following: :\ ]\ [*] virtu...

Hey Iggy, I was checking out the lastest Alpha for MM, and it looks like MM is going to have a tag field in its next version that actually supports release dates. Thought you might be interested. Here's a quote from the forum Here's another build for you to try--thanks for your patience--this build ...

Iggy, I could be wrong, but I think the "notes" field is part of ID3v2, maybe even v1. Pretty universal I think, but again I could be wrong. You could enter your data here, and then create auto-playlists based on the words you entered. Teknojnky's idea definitely has merits though... being able to d...

Iggy, glad Mizery can help you out with some of your questions. I don't know any details about the frames used in ID3v2, I just know that in addition to storing it in the database, MM writes to the tags in the mp3 file itself. And the main reason I know this is because I occasionally delete files us...

How do you get MM to snyc music onto your PDA's SDcard ?
I don't sync my SD card via the sync software provided with the PDA. I use a card reader and the "d_USBMass.dll" plugin in MM.

If I put information (like "month") into one of these Custom fields, is the value stored just in MediaMonkey itself, or in a frame in the ID3 tag, or in both? Both. ID3v2 supports three custom fields, which is why MM provides access to three custom fields. Once you change the properties in the data...

Yeah, I tried the generic plugin, the d_USBMass, and they don't recognize the SD card when it is inserted into the card reader. I think it may be because the card reader is never mounted and unmounted, its drive letters are always there, even when they don't have a disk in (just like the a: drive fo...

So it's been awhile, but I'm back to this original problem, but in a slightly different way. Now I have 6 SD cards that I would like to sync music to. Each card has a different use, and I would like each card to sync with a different auto-playlists. I access the cards through a card reader that is p...

linux player that imports ratings?

Does anyone know of a music player for linux that imports ratings from MediaMonkey? I'm a linux noob, but I've recently got FC5 up and running and networked with my XP machine. My plan is to manage my MP3s with MM, and to play them on my Linux machine (which I created to basically act as jukebox... ...

No not yet. It has to be added to the script.
Thanks for the reply Bex.

Personally I'd love to see the addition... I've been wanting to create playlists based on artist "tags" (properties) instead of track tags for a LONG time.

Mediamonkey has an "Artist Properties" field which is accessible by right-clicking on an artist node and selecting properties. Can Magic Nodes use the info find in this field to create a Magic Node?

Ah, good point Dex! Thanks for pointing that out! I forgot about that. Shouldn't be too hard to find the updated tracks however. I'll just do a search for the keyword before I make the change, and make a playlist of those tracks with the keyword I'm changing. After I make the change in Access, I'll ...
