Re: 1342: Auto-Tag from Amazon not finding results

Thought it might have been an Amazon issue yesterday but it still isn't working for me. Did that code take you to the Fleetwood Mac Tribute CD?

Re: MM4 Uninstall script changes?

Never mind. I see the uninstall.ini for the codec pack extension. I'll use that as a guideline. Thanks again.

Re: MM4 Uninstall script changes?

I see the uninstall script now. It is located in the extensions folder (thanks). But what happens to the uninstall.ini file?

Re: WTD: auto organize mask to swap artist's first and last

Do you want make the change in the artist name tag or only in the filename? If you just want to change the tag, this can probably be done using the RegEx Find and Replace script ( http://goo.gl/oGcjY ). You could also probably make the change using SQL Viewer if you're familiar with SQL ( http://goo...

Re: MM4 Uninstall script changes?

I checked that out and made the modifications for the per-user installations. The extension still doesn't uninstall correctly. I'm actually kind of curious how the install process works (MM3 or MM4). I created the uninstall.vbs and uninstall.ini files but what does MediaMonkey do with them? They are...

MM4 Uninstall script changes?

I posted this in the Developer forum but haven't seen a response so I thought I'd ask here (yes, I know I'm impatient). I have been testing my old playlist script in MM4 but the removal doesn't seem to work at all. The only thing that gets removed is the entry in the extensions.ini file. Have there ...

Re: WTD: auto organize mask to swap artist's first and last

This could probably be done if your entire collection consisted of people's names. MediaMonkey wouldn't know the difference between a person's name and a band name (it would just see two words).

Re: How many "lifetime license" users out there?

Lifetime since 2005. Every once in a blue moon, I'll try out new apps to see how they compare. MediaMonkey has yet to be beaten in my opinion. I will agree with Nola that the UI feels a bit old. But none of the "pretty" applications have 1/10th of the power that MediaMonkey does.

Re: How separate are MM3 and MM4 components kept?

MM4 uses a different directory to store settings. Just make sure you install to a different folder in Program Files (I changed mine to MediaMonkey4).

Multi-Threading issues in MM4?

MM4 puts the cursor into wait mode quite frequently when I'm running a background process. For example, I selected several tracks that I wanted to convert to VBR. Whenever the process switched to a new file, the wait cursor would come on and the app would briefly hang a bit. It didn't use to do this...

1342: Auto-Tag from Amazon not finding results [#7483]

I have only been able to find one album (so far) via the Amazon Auto-Tag (US). The track I found was one I had previously tagged so the tag info was 100% correct. When I try to customize the search, I rarely ever get back any results and they don't seem too accurate. Also, if I can't find the album ...

Re: File Maintenance cannot be stopped.

I did optimize mine before the upgrade which may be why mine appears to be running faster. Biggest difference I've noticed is in autoplaylists... they run a lot faster.

Re: File Maintenance cannot be stopped.

Quick worked for me as well. My database contains 20,000+ tracks and is about 250MB. I haven't noticed any performance issues with 4.0 (so far it seems faster). I'm a DBA so I like to routinely run the full optimization anyway... that's when I noticed the issue.
