Re: ANDs and ORs in Advanced autoplaylists?
I couldn't figure out how to make a single playlist with that selection of criterias. But you could make a playlist for each one and then put a master playlist together that matches on the four or five "child" playlist names. I have MM Gold. The playlist field isn't open under the basic license so y...

Re: File Monitor folders disappear after restart
Actually I think it's 'cause I have "delete emptied folders" checked under Auto-Organize. Since AO takes the file out of my "import to MM" folder and my "eMusic" folder it tries to delete them after it's done. Neither of those folders are in the Auto organize list but I use filters rather than folde...

Re: File Monitor folders disappear after restart
I've had that problem too, Wim. I usually just stick a text file called #donotdelete.txt and mark it as read only. That addresses the issue for me.

Onweerwolf,
Twitter and Facebook type things aren't going away. Even if you don't use 'em you'll have to at least accept that other folks do and rely on those tools for their info.
Not saying your approach isn't valid either. Hell, I do all the methods listed above.

Re: Questions on ripping songs into MediaMonkey
Hey, Lowlander! #1 is a yes if his machine has too much other stuff going on. It's always possible to get jittery encoded mp3s if the CPU is too busy to buffer the incoming stream properly. But Lowlander is right so far as it wouldn't be MM that caused the issue.
Re: Google+
Hey, Trixmoto! What's your email address. I have instructions for you!
Re: Google+
Ditto that! I want to try their audio stream function! Desperately.

Re: MM auto-adds mysterious comments
Wim, You are correct. The tutorial makes the assumption that your MediaMonkey database is the canonical source of your meta data. If this is not the case then you REALLY don't want to follow the instructions in the tutorial because as a result all of the tags in the files before you start will be de...

Re: M Audio Audiophile 192
I stand corrected by Peke! (I only use WAVs in Traktor which has it's own auto gain functionality so I don't feel too bad about making a bad call on this.)

Re: rating tracks - is it worth it?
I use the Last.fm DJ script (in reverse of why it was designed) to find new music. Ratings are required to make that go. Here's what I did for it: http://djsizzly.com/content/finding-coo ... ediamonkey
I also concur with all the other thoughts on why ratings are handy.

Re: M Audio Audiophile 192
The answers to your questions are:
Yes for the M Audio card.
No for the WAV normalization. The MP3gain library that MM uses to normalize files doesn't analyze WAV files as far as I know.

Re: How to make MM better for classical music lovers?
This is how I tag my classical music for maximum portability to all my audio applications: http://djsizzly.com/content/proposal-ta ... udio-files
It works pretty well even though it's a pain to manage.

Re: MM auto-adds mysterious comments
I'd just do it in MediaMonkey. Try this tutorial which should clear out all of the bad data: http://djsizzly.com/content/synchronizi ... amonkey-3x
Just replace the "unsynchronized tag" node with any files that have those silly comments and you're set.

Re: Library/filer ideas
I use filters extensively. I've got an Audiobook filter (no crossfade), a Podcast filter (no crossfade), a Classical music filter (no crossfade), a Show Worthy filter (songs that are in rotation on my radio show), and then the general ones. I use different visible nodes (for example, composer is sho...
