Re: Easy Migration

Right click the offending files > Remove in MediaMonkey. Cannot do. Can't "right click" or any any way manipulate these links. I have learned that M4A is an Apple format so obviously poisonous to Win10. Difficulty/impossibility of clearing M4A files from Windows O/S machines is a recognized problem...

Upload the file in question to a file sharing service like Dropbox, open a Support Ticket and include the link to the file on the filesharing site. http://www.mediamonkey.com/support/index.php?/Tickets/Submit Here's a link: https://flexcircuits.sharefile.com/d-sd4394b5627a443d8 to the M4A version. ...

Re: Easy Migration

When you go to the Music > Files to Edit > Dead Links node in the Media Tree you should see a list of files. Select those files and right click > Remove. Your rapid responses are very much appreciated, Lowlander. 1. The Monteverdi Vespers tracks show up in my Music screen but greyed out because not...

Re: Easy Migration

Removing files outside of MediaMonkey doesn't remove them from the Library. You can do this from the Music > Files to Edit > Dead Links node in the Media Tree. All unavailable files (not on unavailable drives) will show there. I suggest you supply 1 of the troubled M4A files to Support so they can ...

Re: Easy Migration

Yes, both drives connected and then use Tools > Auto-Organize Files to move the files to the new drive. Someone sent me an email asking if this topic could be closed. NO!!! I have attempted to follow every suggestion offered here plus the FAQ information and even used a second T60 computer as an ex...

Migrating Playlists

How do I preserve my Playlists in a new installation? I've moved the .dd file andthe config file to thecorrect location in the O/S but when I do a fresh install none of the external drive information is imported. So I use Scan In to bring in all the track info from the external drive but I never get...

O/S for Media Monkey

Is there a version of Media Monkey which will run on Linux? Has anyone used a Linux O/S successfully with Media Monkey? My install of Media Monkey has multiple operating problems which could be due to a conflict with the Win7 O/S and I am thinking of a total reinstall, O/S plus Media Monkey, to get ...

Please describe the setup and procedure. Seems like I would need to have both the "Old" drive and a bigger "New" drive connected at the same time.

Re: How to do Fresh Install

I Unistalled Media Monkey from a backup IBM T60 with Win7 Ultimate and deleted the program folder plus the database and configuration folders then did a fresh install of the current version downloaded from the website. I inserted my Gold 4X username and key. This install runs poorly--hangs up, freez...

Corruption

I have an installation of Media Monkey i V4.1.7.1741 running on Win7 Ultimate. It has become quite unpredictable in its behaviour; freezes, hangs up, won't Search properly, won't do block Selects (highlight one end of a block of files, navigate to the other end, hold down the Shift key and left clic...

How to do Fresh Install

My Media Monkey is a bit older--V4.1.7.1741 Gold 4X. It seems to be riddled with bugs; runs very slowly, has duplicate File, Edit, etc drop-down boxes in the upper toolbar, refuses to do block highlighting and many other defects. O/S is Win7 Ultimate. I am thinking of copying the database folder ont...

Re: suddenly unresponsive

Update: I find that the unresponsiveness is only encountered with the three new Hyperion albums. This suggests my Media Monkey install is OK and the issue has something to do with metadata from Hyperion. Accordingly I have messaged to Hyperion seeking info & help. The new albums are listed in the Mu...

suddenly unresponsive

My Media Monkey v 4.1.7.1741 runs on a IBM laptop with Win 7 v 6.1.7601 SP1 build 7601. Up to today it has operated very well. Today I downloaded on a separate computer and installed via a flash drive three albums from Hyperion as FLACs and Media Monkey has suddenly developed a lot of problems. Afte...
