Re: mediamonkey on server 2008

Damn, something broke.
The only thing I added was the last.fm native plugin.
I'm not up to date in the forums anymore... is it broken with 3.1 RC?

Re: mediamonkey on server 2008

NM, solved: I had to reinstall MM so it was aware that the codecs had been installed.
Anyway, I'd love to know how to configure those in_things. Just in case it sounds better (I have a high end system).

Re: mediamonkey on server 2008

Thanks, I found that link myself, but most solutions don't work. turning the built-in codec off by adding .off to the dll doesn't seem to make a change, so MAD sits there doing nothing; either that, or it's still broken using MAD. The first codec is a broken link (mpg123). I have WMP 11 playing an m...

mediamonkey on server 2008

I just installed mediamonkey on server 2008. I'm using this as my main desktop, with "desktop Experience" on. By default, server 2008 doesn't have MP11 and cannot play mp3s, but with "desktop Experience" it does. However, MM still cannot play mp3s. Has anyone found a similar problem? What is the sol...

shortcut to minimize/recover from tray

Hi,

I asked about a shortcut to minimize/recover from tray, and was told it was coming. that was about MM 3.0.1 or so.
Is there any progress in this front?
Thanks

Re: congratulations, great progress

Well, actually, I left because I needed my memory for computer simulations, and MM was taking up to 200mb with my collecion :)
I have upgraded to 4Gb and now it's not so much of a problem.
Still, the ahk script that I had to send it to the tray and recover it doesn't work with MM 3.0.7 (!). Dang!

Re: MM for Mac - I just switched to Apple

I'm a gold member too. +1 for a mac version. Even if it doesn't do scripts (which is understandable since MM uses vbscript and that's microsoft's territory). Strip out features, but port it to the mac. Something that can spawn a tagging thread while leaving you free to work your music is a big win. ...

congratulations, great progress

Just wanted to say congratulations, great progress, MM has fixed/implemented everything that made me abandon it the last time. Keep up the great work!

Re: Bring MM to focus with a global shortcut

Thanks so much winkie.
I see that the ahk to get this working was far from trivial.
Excellent work.

And nudge to MM devs: a music program this complete cannot be missing this basic feature!

Would anyone be interested in a MM "lite" version?
remove anything not strictly needed to play music, so it doesn't use up as much memory?

Damn, I don't have background volume analyzing, nor auto-organize, on.

But those would affect CPU more than memory, right?

In any case, winamp for example drops 90% memory usage when in the tray. Not MM.

I think getting MM as lean as possible would be a great move.

any way to reduce memory usage?

Right now my MM with a large library (50000 songs) takes up 109mb physical, 109 VM. This is a lot. Mainly because I run linux on the same computer (andlinux) and it reserves 1Gb. Is there any way to make MM slim down? I'm aiming for at least half of the size. I have compacted library, etc It's just ...
