Re: File Monitor crashes .1225 worked fine in .1224 [Win 7-64]

The screen "greys out" and won't respond. I sent in a windows debug log to the support site, as no mediamonkey crash report is offered

Re: File Monitor crashes .1225 worked fine in .1224 [Win 7-64]

Hi, i hadn't been using file monitor after the last advice. Moved up to .1228 and since you asked, went back to file monitor, and it still crashes after monitoring the first 500-1000 files. Where would I find the debug log to send you?

Cheers

Re: Recommend a Player, Must Sync Playcount/Rating (Not iPod)

I have a zen vision m, running beta v 3.1228, and the playcount syncs, but the podcasts that are listened to are not being removed (I checked the obvious settings in podcast options)

Re: File Monitor crashes .1225 worked fine in .1224 [Win 7-64]

I am on 1228, but have gone as per suggestion to using add/rescan only. Apparently monitoring 23000 files is an issue

Re: File Monitor crashes .1225 worked fine in .1224 [Win 7-64]

Hi and thanks, I realise that Win 7 is not official, still, one good beta derserves another? :) I am sharing the database across a home network, so my file monitor looks for tracks in the network address //mycomputer/my music. Just for fun I tried scanning the local partitioned drive letter (D:/my m...

File Monitor crashes .1225 worked fine in .1224 [Win 7-64]

MM hangs constantly on startup and file monitor enabled in this new build. Uninstalling and reverting to .1224 didn't help (I deleted MM folders in Program Files and C:\Users, but did not clean the registry) either. Not sure what to do now... I can send along a windows error report if desired. [Edit...

Re: multiple users

Yes, ESET Smart Security 4.0 on the host machine, V3 on client (haven't got a round tuit, changing that version) yet. But version 4 makes no difference - it happens just the same. Also: Malwarebytes on client, Prevx Edge on host oh, and turning of ESET makes no difference. The machines are behind a ...

Re: multiple users

I can confirm that this happens for me as well. Running either the official release or latest beta, across Vista and xp pro (db on vista machine). No problems until both programs want access to the db.

I've located the source of the problem for Vista Home users I think -- how many of you with gray or is that grey outs have User Account Control turned off? I did, both on my Vista Business machine as well as my (problematic one) Home Premium machine. Turning UAC back on fixed the grey outs - I no lo...

anyone else haver the same thing happen on a partitioned disk? The same solution worked for me - rescan and file monitor as if it is a UNC networked drive - i.e //device name/file path... It works, though media monkey seems to crash more often this way than in the past. Someone said that it must hav...

See the greyed grayed out post in 'Need Help' forum: I think it was Teknojunky who suggested it was a folder ownership & permissions issue.I couldn't solve it, but got around itby rescanning through the network node-obviously, if you don't have a LAN,that won't help though

Ok, Running via administrator doesn't work, nor does allowing "everyone" permission to read write & modify that folder, BUT scanning the folder via the above network path does work! So while we may not have an answer about the WHY or how to fix it, at least there is a workaround, and i have my MM (t...

(Core 2Quad q6600, 2G ddr2 5300 ram Vista Home premium 32) Please let me know what else you need The permissions thing sounds interesting, but running as admin didn't help (My...

Well no one replied to my other posts, so I'll bump this one up: nothing at all plays on my setup unless i manually add a track to the playlist: scanned folders are immediately greyed (sp? grayed) out. This by the way happens only on my desktop (vista 32 home premium), not my laptop (vista business)...
