Re: Does Volume Levelling use album gain or track gain?

im pretty sure it would use the track volume, as like you say, album volume would be useless.would be a pretty useless feature. actually, I said the exact opposite. If it were to use the track volume, then you would find it would make quiet songs on an album louder and louder songs on the same albu...

Does Volume Levelling use album gain or track gain?

So I want to permanently level the volumes ofall the mp3's, however, I does anyone know if that operation will use the album gain value or the track g...

Re: Behind Titlebars - Show / Hide all script created titlebars

well.. actually.. I do follow all these posts... unfortunately, I can't reproduce that problem and I wouldn't know where to begin to fix it. That doesn't mean I won't try.. but I haven't had time to start an indefinitely long bug fixing task lately. I'll try and sort it out when I can, but please do...

Entry in an IT video Competition

Hi guys, I haven't been on the forums much lately but I thought I'd jump on to show off my short video for a Hewlett Packard competition. They've asked people to submit videos that help viewers learn IT skills. Mine's on efficiency. here it is: http://h30476.www3.hp.com/media/10069587-Quicker-Ways-o...

Re: volume levelling confused with file monitoring [#5533]

here's a question for both rusty and anyone who CAN replicate the issue. when you copy in the files to the monitored directory so that they are then automatically added to the DB and auto analyzed.... where do you copy / move them from and how many files are you copying / moving. This is important b...

Re: Why Songbird will succeed where MM fails

I don't think the two tabs should be basic & advanced, because I don't think that they specifically apply tot hose categories.

I think that tabs (or view modes) should be "listen" and "organize"
both obviously customizable individually

I'm not sure. It's possible, but usually not, just between drives (so it's not instantaneous)

Re: Why Songbird will succeed where MM fails

good post sirander, I agree with most of the stuff you said and you explained it well. in regard to your individual points: 1) I may be wrong, but I don't think MM has any affiliation with Amazon, they just provide the link to convenience the users 3) I understand what you mean, but I think this is ...

Re: Why Songbird will succeed where MM fails

I'm not arguing that the aesthetics of the app isn't personal taste.. it is. All I'm saying is that MM, being the way it is, has a tendency to turn away less confident users. Tailoring it so that it doesn't scare them away will mean a larger user base, which means more popularity, more profits, and ...

Re: Why Songbird will succeed where MM fails

and as I mentioned regarding advanced users and basic users... it's not about what the most common user sees or the advanced user, it's about catering for the lowest common denominator (the basic user who struggles to learn new programs) and allowing the advanced and other users to tailor it up from...
