Re: Search troubles with Occasion and NOT

In particular, "Rating:3.. NOT Occasion:Special" gets me all songs with rating >= 3 *AND* "Special" as the occasion, which is a definite bug it seems to me.

Search troubles with Occasion and NOT

I'd like to make an auto-playlist or search that does rating >= 3 and Occasion is not "Special". I've tried various combinations with "-Occasion:Special" and "NOT Occasion:Special", but nothing seems to work. I don't want to list out all the other Occasion values, in case I add one down the road. So...

Re: Volume compression for portable playing.

Huh! I don't think rockbox had that the last time I used it.

I'm using an Android phone, and there seems to be a pre-release version of rockbox for it; I'll take a look. Thanks!

In case that doesn't work, will Audacity do this sort of thing?

Re: Mass modification of multi-entry Mood/Occasion

You need to keep the Ctrl key pressed while dragging the files on the mood you want to add. *blink* I coulda swore.... Thank you so much! :D Now, how about removal? I think I found the help section that describes the ctrl-drag trick, but it doesn't show any way to remove one mood and leave the othe...

Nope. That destroys their setting in favour of the new one, it doesn't add to it.

Mass modification of multi-entry Mood/Occasion

So MediaMonkey supports moods and occasions with more than one entry, seperated by ;. I discovered this basically by accident. :) Search works excellently with this. I wish that when I entered ; and then selected the dropdown, it would *add* instead of *replacing*. My question is about modifying mor...

Re: Volume compression for portable playing.

OK, how about using MediaMonkey to create low-bandwidth copies of my music and then running another tool on top of them to do the volume compression?

Volume compression for portable playing.

(This isn't in the sync section because I don't care if it's done via sync as such; having to convert my whole music collection every once in a while and then copy that to the portable device would be fine). I would very much like to compress the volume range on my tracks; I don't like to have to fi...

Re: GMail/tag cloud style labels/tags.

Yes, it's very close, but for those I have to go into the song and type them in, which is very different from something like gmail's labels in terms of ease of use. Of course you'll need to add the tags first. There are some automated ways like Auto-Tag from Web or one of the many addons that can t...

GMail/tag cloud style labels/tags.

Something I really really want in a music program that nobody has, but MediaMonkey comes closest to, is web-2.0-style tags/labels, i.e. like for GMail email. I have a lot of idiosyncratic moods and such that I like to label music with, and I really want a program that does it easily and well, so I c...
