Re: WAV Metadata

100% change to FLAC if your devices can play them. Convert them in situ - may take a while but it will save you a load of space and the process is damn easy with MM. FLAC is a more thoroughly designed music format as opposed to wav's basic approach, which is not really supposed to support tagging et...

Autoplaylists duplicating / omitting songs & album

I use a series of autoplaylists to track my music. Custom field 2 is Year.Week (ie this week would be 16.05). The autoplaylists are structured as so: Year\Quarter\Week. For year, the autoplaylist just find all tracks where Custom 2 starts with eg 15. For week, the autoplaylist just find all tracks w...

Using Mediamonkey to access OneDrive content

Hi everyone. I have all of my music stored on an external hard drive. That folder is also my OneDrive folder (ie, everything is mirrored in the cloud). The HD is not always attached to my computer. Is it possible to somehow access the cloud copies of OneDrive files via MM when the HD isn't plugged i...

[SOLVED] Sony Xperia Z1/Z Ultra not showing up in media tree

For some reason, my phone (Sony Xperia Z1, stock Android 4.4.2) is not showing up in the media tree. Under Portable Device Sync, I have the phone (and its SD card) ticked - along with everything else It shows up in Windows Explorer (as an MTP device) but simply not in MM 4.1.1.1703. It has shown up ...

Re: 3 queries/problems (1703)

1. Ok, I guess you may not be able to replicate exactly but if you've seen similar before is likely a general problem 2. Doing that now. Tried to do it once or twice yesterday and nothing seemed to happen... hopefully it'll work now. The annoying thing is that it's hard to find the issue, tend to ju...

Re: Changes in MediaMonkey.ini

It may not be in there by default, but an upgrade should realise that the DB is in a custom location and carry it forwards.

A bit like an upgrade should remember your keyboard shortcuts, fading settings etc but hey you can't have it all.

3 queries/problems (1703)

1. Have two or more tabs open. Select an item in tab one. Go to tab two. Go to tab one. Right click the item that you selected. Half of the options are greyed out - you have to select something else and then back again to "un-grey" everything 2. Most of my music has the Publisher field filled in, an...

"Error: Cannot load query data..."

Hi there I have been encountering this problem for quite a long time - I think I first had it when I reformatted my previous laptop, and re-installed MM but using a copy of the old DB. I know have a new laptop using the same DB (albeit with a lot more music) Frequently, when MM tries to read certain...

The new version is gash

So mediamonkey used to work fairly well. I had minor gripes and niggles with it, but overall it was good for a paid product. Now, with the new update, the following issues - MediaMonkey is always "on top" and I can't get other windows on top of it unless i minimise it. pain in the arse - If you have...

Re: Fresh install, get access violation error.

Well it appears MM hasn't written any of the custom ID tags to any of my 1300 wav files, despite me synchronising all tags multiple times.

woe is me.

Fresh install, get access violation error.

After having a myriad of inexplicable problems, I ignored common sense and decided to go for a completely fresh install of MM after backing up various elements. I uninstalled MM, removed data in Program Files, AppData\Local & Roaming, and made sure there weren't any registry entries left. Then resta...

Re: Not saving ID tags to certain wav files

Hmm ok thanks. Please can you point me in the right direction for the MM debug download? For some unfathomable reason it isn't linked to in the page you just linked, and googling it is useless (try).
