If it had album art before then it should show up. Is your art embedded in the tags or separate jpgs?...

Did you do a portable install?
If so you will find the files in c:\Mediamonkey

With regards to the odd tags - have you checked using "files to edit/unsynchronised tracks" that the tags are matching the library?
If you select the erroneous files and hit ctrl-S that will update the file tags to match the library.
