Re: back to MM4 but still various issues

@Ludek: About autoplay: are we talking the same language? I asked for an auto-RIP option: insert a cd and MM automatically assumes I want those tracks in my library and rips/imports them, then ejects the cd. Cannot find this option in the OS integration option panel. Does it exist? Where? If it exis...

Re: What if ALL track info is from completely different trac

if that explanation is correct, it sounds like a major bug in MM: such basic mistakes should NOT happen.
any of the developers aware of that bug? and bugfixes on the way?

Re: back to MM4 but still various issues

Glad I gave at lease ONE useful hint to locate some problem ;) Hopefully it leads to a fix too! As to performance: no, it is not only sluggish when ripping, but ripping seems to be a very notorious resources consumer. I will try to change the settings when ripping again. Talking about ripping, does ...

Re: What if ALL track info is from completely different trac

Not really... All tips & tricks took a lot of time with disappointing results. After I noticed that the messed up collections belonged (mainly?) to 4 different artists, so I deleted all their tracks and re-imported them through cd or download. Incidentally I still come across a nonsense track. So be...

Re: How to remove an unwanted genre from the list?

Hm, problem NOT solved, I called hurrah too early... All entries with genre 'easy mich' WERE relabeled, the genre 'easy mich' WAS removed from the genre node. I even saved the library, closed MM and restarted it. But the next time I wanted to add 'easy mix'... there was 'easy mich' again, automatica...

Re: How to remove an unwanted genre from the list?

Problem solved.
Must have made a mistake somewhere, I for sure DID filter all entries containing the unwanted genre and changed them, but later somehow 1 tracks erroneously got this wrong genre label again. Now I found and changed it, then the unwanted genre was gone, from the node too.
Thanks.

How to remove an unwanted genre from the list?

I am cleaning up my big database. Many imported tracks contain strange genre/category names, so I regroup or rename them. After an unwanted genre name is not in use anymore, the name disappears from the genre list. Except for one case, the genre 'easy mich' (strange typo for 'easy mix') is not in us...

Re: Install MM 3x to create 3 separate libraries?

I know the Collections options in MM4, nice, but... the db SIZE remains the same.
And too often (till now) I have problems that could be smaller if the db is smaller.
Or does that not make sense?
What about my 3 installs? Impossible? Nonsense?

Install MM 3x to create 3 separate libraries?

I am looking for a way to split my very big (95.000+) library into 3 separate databases: 1. P = Popular 2. C = Classical 3. X = Christmas Would it work if I install MM in 3 directories MM-P, MM-C and MM-X? And then create 3 different shortcuts to start the various databases? The 5500+ Christmas song...

Re: back to MM4 but still various issues

Can multitasking create problems? I had to edit 3000 fields with RegExp Find & Replace, was working well till I started ripping a cd. Then the field editing was interrupted till finally the ripping was done, then the editing continued. But later I found that 4 of the ripped tracks were dead links, h...

Re: back to MM4 but still various issues

@ludek: Just installed beta 1422 & debug, but... Now my Windows Task Manager says I have a NON SKINNED VERSION, and indeed: changing the skin is not possible. Is that related to the debug version? That also means I have a complete white browsing screen with no grid lines (which complicates navigatin...

Re: back to MM4 but still various issues

Hi Ludek, Strange that the DB is so fast/smooth on your system and so slow/problematic on mine. A few answers to your remarks: ● My db is not Chinese at all... I only ripped one or two cd's with chinese characters and one with thai characters. As soon as I figure out how to transliterate them, I wil...
